The opportunity

The selected candidate will:

  • Develops and communicates the product vision, strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment to the organization's product strategy and business objectives

  • Monitors and oversees progress of product development as well as plans for product releases, providing expertise and collaborating with the development team and Product Managers to ensure the product roadmap and vision are executed

  • Develops partnerships and regularly meets with, persuades and influences senior business, technical, and client stakeholders to define business and customer needs and the associated product features required to meet those needs

  • Measures product performance as well as value delivered to clients and makes adjustments to product roadmaps and plans where necessary

Your key responsibilities

  • Leads the development of products throughout the product lifecycle, setting, prioritizing and evaluating work generated by the team to maximize the value of the product being created

  • Defines the product vision, strategy and roadmap, taking into account market and technology trends and business and customer requirements

  • Owns the product backlog, continually reviewing it to ensure it is maintained to achieve business objectives and a return on investment

  • Provides reports to update management and stakeholders on product development operations

  • Measures product performance and mitigates impediments impacting the successful delivery of the product vision and roadmap

  • Leads planning product releases and enhancements and sets expectations for delivery of features

  • Builds long-term relationships with internal and external business, technical, and client leaders, ensuring engagement with the product and that all business and customer requirements are identified and met

Skills and attributes for success

  • Exceptional knowledge of the software development cycle and project management methodologies

  • Strong understanding of Scrum practices and delivery frameworks, especially Agile

  • Strong financial acumen ensuring financial metrics are met across the product

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field preferred

  • More than 10 years of relevant work experience

  • Handle ambiguity and able to move forward with imperfect information and get things done in a rapidly changing environment

  • Communicates feedback to the leadership team to improve and evolve the quality of products

  • Cultivates and builds relationships across business & IT and industry to gather intelligence and bring insight about the wider enterprise picture and enable the leveraging of emerging industry standards and approaches within EY

  • Oversees the development and implementation of an ongoing communication plan to educate stakeholders on the purpose and benefits of Product Management

  • Experience and ability to define and develop cloud based products and services, including reusable domain-specific microservices on Cloud environments - Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, or OpenStack

  • Extensive work experience in a product lead role

  • Experience managing and delivering results through others in matrixed client, supplier and geographically dispersed virtual teams

  • Extensive experience of working with engineering and design teams

  • Extensive work experience in a professional services industry, preferred

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • The ability to quickly form strong working relationships with colleagues within and outside India.

  • Experience and ability to define and develop cloud based products and services, including reusable domain-specific microservices on Cloud environments - Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, or OpenStack

  • Proven success in defining product features and drive feature execution – from concept to commissioning

  • Solid business acumen, management and marketing communication skills
