The EY Digital Operations Hub at MxD is a dynamic and innovative facility designed to drive transformation in the manufacturing sector. Situated in the heart of Chicago's innovation district, this hub is a collaboration between EY and MxD (Manufacturing x Digital) MxD | The Digital Manufacturing and Cybersecurity Institute (mxdusa.org) , combining EY's extensive expertise in digital transformation with MxD's cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities. The hub serves as a center for developing and implementing advanced digital technologies that enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness for manufacturing companies.

The Opportunity:

The hub is structured around four key pillars: manufacturing, OT (Operational Technology) cybersecurity, workforce development, and supply chain solutions. Our manufacturing pillar is dedicated to enhancing production processes through the integration of advanced digital technologies, ensuring increased efficiency and productivity. The OT cybersecurity pillar focuses on safeguarding manufacturing operations from cyber threats, implementing robust security measures to protect critical infrastructure. Workforce development is a core focus, as we provide comprehensive training programs to equip the current and future workforce with the skills needed to thrive in a digitally transformed manufacturing environment. Lastly, our supply chain solutions pillar aims to optimize supply chain operations by leveraging digital tools and analytics, enabling companies to achieve greater transparency, resilience, and efficiency.

A key component of the EY Digital Operations Hub at MxD is our commitment to delivering in-person, interactive demonstrations designed to immerse clients in cutting-edge digital solutions. Our goal is to host clients for 1-2 day workshops that not only showcase innovative technologies but also facilitate collaboration and alignment among client teams. During these workshops, we work closely with clients to understand their unique challenges and objectives, developing actionable deliverables that are tailored to advance their specific business goals. By combining hands-on experiences with strategic planning sessions, we ensure that our clients leave with practical insights and concrete steps to implement transformative changes within their organizations.

Your key responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced OT Cyber Security Lead to join our team at the EY Digital Operations Hub at MxD in Chicago, IL. This position will play a crucial role in develoloping solution to safeguard our clients' critical infrastructure, driving forward our mission of enhancing cybersecurity within the manufacturing sector, conducting workshops for clients focused on OT business needs, and introducing our clients to all of our capabilities at the EY Digital Operations Hub.

The role is a formal rotational position with a duration of 12-18 months at MxD, after which the individual will cycle back into the EY OT cybersecurity organization. During the tenure at MxD, the staff will work on an authorized investment I-code, which will be in place to relieve their regular utilization requirement.

  • Lead interactive demonstrations and workshops for clients, showcasing innovative cybersecurity technologies and strategies.

  • Develop new interactive experiences to deliver during client sessions that feature current and new state-of-the-art OT cyber solutions.

  • Demonstrate how EY:

  • Conducts risk assessments and develops security strategies for OT environments, including industrial control systems (ICS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.

  • Implements and manages security measures to protect manufacturing operations from cyber threats.

  • Responds to security incidents and provide remediation support.

  • Collaborate with team members focused on manufacturing, supply chain solutions, and workforce development to deliver comprehensive client solutions.

  • Develop actionable deliverables tailored to clients' specific business goals.

  • Communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Connection to OT Practice during the rotation

  • Sales and business development experience and ability to develop target account list, through to post event sales tracking

  • Expectation of role being experienced senior – through new manager level of experience

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in OT cybersecurity.

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GICSP are highly desirable.

  • Extensive knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and other OT environments.

  • Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, developing and implementing security strategies, and responding to security incidents in an OT context.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Must be based in Chicago and able to work predominantly on-site and in-person.

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $103,800 to $190,300. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $124,600 to $216,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
