Tax Accountant, Tax, Global Compliance & Reporting - Global Operations (Senior Manager) (Multiple Positions), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, Chicago, IL.

Provide clients with guidance and planning to effectively manage worldwide statutory reporting and tax obligations proactively and responsibly, reduce inefficiencies, mitigate risk, and drive process improvement within their finance and tax functions. Work on the design, implementation and operation of global record-to-report processes. Coordinate internal functions including tax, and legal / risk management. Responsible for tax compliance process including review of tax returns and tax projections throughout the year. Manage the migration of statutory reporting and tax compliance processes from local countries to the centers. Utilize one global methodology to track the end-to-end process and provide subsidiary governance throughout legal-entity life cycle to mitigate risk and increase corporate transparency. Contribute to the overall success of the team by applying a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery; keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments when unassigned; proactively seeking opportunities to provide tax services; challenging traditional procedures used in the past; and attempting to find new approaches.

Lead and direct teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds by providing constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Manage risk in the delivery of quality client services. Generate and manage new business opportunities.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Business, Law, or a related field, plus 8 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience; OR a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Business, Law, or a related field, plus 7 years of related work experience.

Of the required work experience, must have 7 years of tax experience with a mid-size/regional to large sized/national public accounting firm delivering tax compliance and reporting including managing compliance engagements.

Must have 7 years of tax experience working with international tax developments and their impact and applications to clients.

Must have 7 years of tax experience including one or a combination of the following: core tax accounting experience using ASC 740 and tax provisions review; and/or experience working with US GAAP or IFRS accounting standards.

Must have 7 years of experience in global taxation, including country-specific or multi-jurisdictional consulting, and global tax compliance.

Must have 5 years of experience interacting with client tax directors or representatives.

Must have 4 years of experience reviewing the work of junior tax professionals.

Must have 4 years of experience managing tax compliance engagements, including engagement-related budgeting and billing, serving as a primary point of contact for clients, and escalating issues to tax partners or executives as needed.

Must have CPA certification, Enrolled Agent, or U.S. state bar membership.

Requires travel up to 10%, of which less than 5% may be international to serve client needs.
