The Senior Product Manager is responsible for the overall management of multiple technology solutions for Digital Products & Solutions (DPS). In particular the Senior Product Manager manages the solutions in line with the Global Markets and/or Service Line strategy, ensures that solutions fit consistently within the integrated suite of technology enablers as appropriate, and ensures that the solutions operate as designed and are of high quality. This Senior Product Manager is also responsible for the successful deployment of these solutions.

The Senior Product Manager provides consultative guidance on technology for the application sponsor. The Senior Product Manager initiates, plans, and executes projects (simple to complex), leading project teams (virtual, matrix) to success and applying effective project management processes, including management of stakeholder expectations, communications, and scope management.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with project stakeholders to understand their business objectives and practices, and to achieve effective coordination in the deployment of technology services.

  • As a working sponsor, maintains overall responsibility for several applications and products that are used within a practice or function, including:

  • Providing input to and maintaining the product roadmap that guides development and implementation decisions throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Presenting recommendations to stakeholders, including Global Markets/Service Line/functional leadership, regarding both the use and enhancement of the products.

  • Leading, along with the Information Technology (IT) Team, the delivery of product updates and enhancements with specific emphasis on providing clear prioritized business requirements and managing the business implementation activities.

  • Overseeing the design, development and facilitation of the support model and related services to make certain that technology support issues are solved in the most efficient and effective manner.

  • Manages project activities, and their associated resources, to deliver sound business solutions to technical matters in order to increase productivity and profitability, including, performing and overseeing:

  • The design, development and deployment of tools.

  • Vendor relationships both new and existing.

  • Communications, documentation, support, and other deployment.

  • Technology budget for the practice for each product or service.

  • Resource needs within the group to support the practice.

  • The measuring, tracking, and reporting of success criteria.

  • Acts as a project manager for large projects or oversees significant portions of major or highly complex projects.

  • Manages project scope variance(s), anticipate time and budget overruns, and communicate appropriately any project-related challenges.

  • Leads go-to-market, change management and implementation activities to drive the adoption of technology solutions

  • Provides meaningful contributions to team efforts to enhance overall departmental effectivenessManages product stakeholder expectations regarding deliverables, timing, and how the technology approach matches their needs and deliver service in a timely manner with minimal disruption to the client. Keeps clients updated on projects and/or deployment activities. Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

  • Ability to translate business need in to technical requirements

  • Applies advanced principles and concepts to a wide range of work in a complex functional area; duties are varied in scope and require a broad knowledge base to perform.

  • Able to analyze problems and recommend/negotiate solutions

  • Recommends courses of action and manages relationships for positive progress.

  • Provides detailed review of development solutions and schedules; reviews and tests product upgrades prior to being placed in production environment.

  • Ability to adapt to constantly changing work requirements while assimilating new information, analyzing it, and effectively applying it

  • Widediscretion in designing and delivering its services provided that activities are consistent with EY operating policies, risk management requirements and functional precedents

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Able to complete multiple projects concurrentlyand meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Receives general direction rather than supervision; however some detailed supervision may occur depending on the complexity and visibility of a project

  • Strongly influences and directs the activities of individuals in other parts of the organization

  • Provides guidance and performance evaluation of more junior product managers. Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Knowledge of technologies in the marketplace

  • Strong working knowledge of EY IT infrastructure

  • Has a strong understanding of the product’s full range of functionality and a working familiarity with technology tools and services.

  • Ability to develop a strong understanding of the business drivers that determine success.

  • Understand user-centered design, user experience, and usability

  • Experience with mobile applications and responsive design principles

  • Strong knowledge of data privacy, data residency, and information security requirements

  • Exceptional project management skills. Demonstrates strong understanding of scope, schedule and planning, time management, resource management and cost management.

  • Ability to learn new things quickly, to thrive on change, navigate ambiguity, and to strive for continuous improvement

  • Ability and flexibility to work in a virtual environment across multiple time zones

  • Flexibility to work non-standard hours
