The opportunity

As our US GPS practice continues to expand, we have Staff opportunities in Risk Transformation. As a member of our GPS team, you will join a talented group of professionals serving in key roles advising US federal, state and local agencies on identifying important risks, designing frameworks to manage them and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of risk management. The EY GPS practice focuses across disciplines with defense and national security, civilian, health and international agencies. Your key responsibilities

Based on your background, existing skill set, and future ambitions, you could have the opportunity to gain experience in a number of the capabilities which make up the Risk Transformation – Risk Enabled Performance Management team.

The Enterprise Risk Management team helps organizations move toward an insight-driven and performance-oriented approach to risk management – one that becomes intrinsic to the business and is embedded in key business processes.

The IT Risk Management team helps our clients design and implement IT risk management frameworks and programs to help identify, manage and respond to IT risks. This includes developing IT process, risk and controls frameworks; establishing IT risk management programs; and leveraging the latest in GRC technology to enable IT risk activities.

The Third-party Risk Management team helps clients make strategic investments and focus on the right areas to effectively manage third-party risks. This service, made possible through our global delivery centers and technology partnerships, was designed in a flexible manner to reflect companies' variable stages of readiness when it comes to managing third-party risk.

The Program Risk Management team helps clients achieve their desired outcomes for their most critical and complex programs and initiatives. This may include program portfolio optimization, predictive risk analysis, go-live readiness assessments and other initiatives designed to improve program execution.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree and approximately one year of related work experience, or a graduate degree and approximately one or two years of related work experience

  • Knowledge of principles of ERM and knowledge of GRC concepts. Knowledge of risk management or control frameworks (e.g., COSO, ISO, OCEG)

  • An understanding of and/or implementation experience with a variety of GRC tools (e.g., GRC, Archer, BWise, Paisley)

  • Experience with the assessment, design and implementation of risk management and/or compliance programs, including risk governance, risk appetite and risk tolerance, risk assessment, risk mitigation strategies, integration of risk management and strategic/business planning processes, and integration of risk management functions

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a [secret/public trust] clearance or higher.

  • The EY Government and Public Sector Practice's staffing model is to assign resources to projects aligned to the office within the metropolitan area you have been hired; however, in certain circumstances, travel may be required within and/or beyond your geographic region based on client and project needs. For roles within the federal practice, the flexibility to travel up to approximately 30% is preferred. Within the state, local and education practice, the flexibility to travel up to approximately 80% is preferred.

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Prior experience as a consultant or client serving professional

  • CISSP, CISM, CISA, CIPT, CIPM, CRISC or other relevant certification desired

  • ​A military background is a plus

** For Denver, Colorado, the salary range for this position is: $66,900 - $78,500.
