The opportunity

Join our Digital Network Infrastructure team as a Senior Manager within the Tech Consulting Practice. You will play a pivotal role in developing, managing, and integrating cutting-edge security solutions for the Telecommunications Sector. This rapidly growing segment focuses on designing and launching innovative solutions in the market. Protect sensitive networks against various threats while leading cross-departmental initiatives that align security measures with business goals and technical specifications. Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you will be at the forefront of designing and managing security infrastructure systems, delivering digital infrastructure projects, and selling technical solutions through professional services and consulting engagements. You'll collaborate across departments to meet security, business, and operational needs, leading complex project delivery with a focus on quality and risk management. Additionally, you will control budgets, establish client relations, identify sales opportunities, and manage resources for project success. Expect regular travel to meet client needs and daily interactions with external clients to foster and manage relationships. Collaborate interdepartmentally to align security with business objectives

  • Technical Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise with hands-on experience in designing and managing network security infrastructure systems.

  • Service Delivery: Lead large teams in executing mission-critical projects, ensuring quality and risk management, and continuously improving work products.

  • Client Relationships: Build and strengthen relationships with key sponsors and client executives in the Telecommunications Industry.

  • Business Development: Drive key pursuits with account teams to expand services within the Telecom sector.

  • Thought Leadership: Offer thought leadership in your areas of expertise to advance our practice.

Skills and attributes for success

To thrive in this role, you must possess a deep understanding of network infrastructure security concepts, coupled with the technical expertise in deploying and managing security solutions. Your business competencies will include relationship-building, critical thinking, negotiation, and communication skills, enabling you to lead and manage teams effectively.

  • Deep understanding of network infrastructure security concepts and technical expertise in deploying and managing security solutions.

  • Expertise in network security in the Telecommunications Industry, including technical network design, deployment, validation, and operations.

  • Demonstrated in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge across network architecture and engineering functions.

  • Proficiency in change management and operations

  • Exceptional relationship-building and critical thinking abilities

  • Effective communication and team leadership skills

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A bachelor's degree, with a master's degree preferred in a technical or engineering field with a focus on business

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience in a technical network infrastructure role within Telecommunications industry

  • In-depth technical capabilities across network architecture and engineering function, including legacy IP network architectures and the associated systems and protocols

  • Experience with Cloud networking, software-defined networks, and virtualized network functions in a carrier-grade network.

  • Experience architecting and deploying software-defined networks and virtualized network functions in a carrier-grade network interface in 4G/5G mobile networks.

  • Proficiency in Security Solution Deployment, Integration, Configuration, and Debugging

  • Experience with Digital Transformation

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Deep knowledge in network engineering, network construction, network service activation/provisioning, and network service assurance

  • Prior consulting experience at a large professional service consulting firm or Telecom industry leader

  • Experience in professional services sales, including developing and presenting large proposals, writing SOWs for client contracts, and understanding revenue generation and margin management.

  • Experience in the operations of an ISP or carrier or CCIE/CCNE preferred

  • Experience in speaking roles at prominent public forums or holding roles within standards organizations.

  • Demonstrated success in managing highly complex, transformational program delivery in areas such as network construction, 3G/4G/5G launch, datacenter consolidation, disaster recovery, cloud migrations, and network transformation.

  • Strong Business Skills including Building and Managing Relationships, Communicating with Impact, Complex Problem-Solving, Critical Thinking, and Negotiation and Influencing

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $168,900 to $386,100. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $202,800 to $438,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
