BMC Communications Leader (Tax) - Associate Director
Are you an experienced communications professional with extensive, demonstrated capabilities in planning, producing and executing strategic communications programs? Are you looking to take your talents to the next level? EY’s Americas Tax Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team has an opening for an experienced communications leader with a strong track record of setting campaign strategy for complex programs in a matrixed organization, creating and coordinating communications deliverables across a variety of mediums, and measuring and tracking results. This role will work directly with the Americas Tax BMC Director, EY Tax, Law, and People Advisory Services leaders, as well as other key stakeholders within various regions and business areas.
The opportunity
Employing a progressive mindset, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and set direction for essential Americas Tax communications programs, aligned to the Tax practice’s overarching strategic goals and priorities. Working closely with internal stakeholders and enabling teams, you’ll understand and embed key audience issues to challenge traditional communications paradigms.
Your key responsibilities
You’ll lead assigned Americas Tax communications programs by developing comprehensive strategies which incorporate multi-channel campaigns to maximize awareness, engagement, audience reach, and impact. And you’ll build relationships with the Americas Tax leadership team, initiative and program leaders, and your BMC colleagues to meet business objectives.
Skills and attributes for success
Adept at crafting, cultivating, and owning leadership voices across a broad range of organizational channels and deliverables
Proven track record of developing communications strategies, including annual planning, calendars, and timelines, building campaign deliverables, monitoring effectiveness and making iterative optimizations as needed
Demonstrated success in building internal and external relationships at a senior level
Ability to manage relationships with external agencies, effectively articulating business needs and KPIs to brief and engage outside vendors
Excellent project management skills and experience working as a leader on expansive, multi-faceted projects
Ability to work autonomously when necessary in a virtual work environment, while maintaining connectivity with your team and other members of the practice
To qualify for the role, you must have
Minimum of 12 plus years of experience in communications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or related field, MBA or master’s degree desired
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to articulate complex subject matter in a straightforward, concise and easily digestible manner for broad audiences
Strong business acumen and understanding of how environmental factors affect the firm, practice, markets, and solutions
Confidence in presenting complex or nuanced ideas, anticipating potential objections, interpreting responses to present alternative solutions and influence others
Excellent project management, teamwork, and interpersonal skills – ability to identify and coordinate resources where applicable
Poise to professionally interact with all levels of leadership
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience working in professional services or related fields
Appetite to explore innovative uses of technology, multimedia, and research to achieve communications goals
