EY’s Valuation & Business Modelling practice is currently looking for an Analyst to join our Capital Equipment Valuation team in Dubai. The Capital Equipment team in V&BM works on a wide variety of assignments, from office-based to national and international travel; small to large clients; from an assignment that lasts a couple of days to very large assignments working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.


You will be responsible for conducting equipment appraisal and valuation analyses and applying valuation theories and approaches, including: gathering relevant supporting information; analyzing market and research information; participating in the formulation of valuation approaches; developing valuation models; and assisting in the preparation of formal and informal valuation reporting documents.

These valuations are used for a range of applications including mergers and acquisitions, insurance, financial reporting and litigation matters.

You will:

  • Serve as a member of multiple client engagement teams

  • Identify issues and propose solutions

  • Actively contribute to report writing and detailed financial modelling

  • Commit to attaining an accredited membership with the American Society of Appraisers

  • Demonstrate ability to listen to clients and address their needs

  • Develop positive, productive and professional relationships with colleagues and clients

  • Demonstrate teamwork and responsibility towards engagement team members

  • Stay up to date on business and economic developments relevant to the client's business

  • Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided

Skills and Experience:

We are interested in candidates who have:

  • Relevant experience (if any) within a valuation firm or experience in the valuation practice of an accounting, insurance or engineering firm.

  • Experience performing and reviewing tangible asset valuations for financial reporting and tax purposes would be plus;

  • An engineering aptitude combined with developed analytical skills;

  • Relevant experience with an engineering, quantity surveying or engineering consulting firm would be an asset

  • Ability to manage project expenditures against budget and revenue to ensure the timely completion of work deliverables

  • Excellent analytical, project management, communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Fluent in English and Arabic

This position also requires domestic and international travel, as necessary.

The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication/presentation skills; superior analytical skills; project and people management skills; and an energetic attitude toward successful project completion.

Depending on the needs of other sub-service lines in our Transaction Advisory Services practice, from time to time, you may be called upon to work in those sub-service lines.
