The opportunity

As a marketing and communications program lead within the Global Assurance BMC team you’ll work closely with Audit leadership, as well as other members of the Global Assurance BMC team, to develop and deploy an engagement program that supports our audit quality messaging.

This includes overseeing external and internal messages sent by EY leadership, including audit partners, that establish and encourage a culture based on a commitment to quality, a dedication to continuous improvement, an emphasis on values, a global mindset and the importance of teaming – all with the purpose of setting a clear tone at the top. You’ll also help build relationships and the reputation of our Audit practice and its commitment to audit quality with stakeholders using all available communications channels.

As a senior member of our Audit-aligned BMC support, you will play a leading role in external and internal communications content development and channel management and their development, as you work closely with senior members of the Assurance leadership team.

To be successful, you will be an active participant in the successful delivery of innovative, disruptive, comprehensive and world-class external and internal communications campaigns that effectively inspire and engage audiences.

Your key responsibilities

In this role, your work will be an important part in the ongoing success of the Audit practice. You’ll lead the execution of end-to-end awareness and perception programs to generate a deeper understanding of our commitment to serving the public interest through the delivery of high-quality audits. This work is key in supporting this priority and is critical to the EY strategy and ambition to create long-term value for clients, people and society; and to fulfill the EY purpose of Building a better working world.

The program you will lead will include a wide range of activities from creating and curating communications content and utilizing digital channels (e.g., webcasts, podcasts, video, social media, web presence) to engage clients, target clients and other stakeholders.

To build trust and confidence in the capital markets, win in the market and maintain strong relationships, EY professionals must be able to have meaningful audit quality conversations. To help make this happen you will need to build strong relationships with senior business stakeholders, BMC teams and other support functions; demonstrate a good understanding of the Audit business; and have the ability to influence colleagues to bring our messages to life for all stakeholders.

Your success will be measured through the program’s key performance indicators, feedback from EY Audit leadership (global, Area and regional) and your contribution within the BMC Assurance team and wider function.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability to create and deliver on a strategic communications plan with both internal and external objectives and outcomes, and that drives both employee compliance and engagement

  • Excellent communications and networking experience and skills in a wide range of situations, and with people at all levels within the organization, including global leadership

  • Strong content production and promotion experience, including writing skills, digital knowledge, attention to deadlines and adherence to branding standards

  • Solid project management experience with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and support different stakeholders at once

  • Impeccable writing skills, including researching; eye for detail; an engaging copywriter; and a grammar guru

  • Experience developing leading-class and breakthrough strategic communications plans that turn vision into action

  • Both a strong team player and leader who’s comfortable working collaboratively, virtually and independently; able to connect individual work into the bigger picture of the team

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities effectively

  • A good understanding of professional services and how a partnership operates; experience with regulated industries an advantage

  • Consensus-building skills and ability to successfully navigate what is often a dynamic environment

  • Enable and demonstrate innovative thinking; leverage communications to inspire others

  • Be a point of integration; connect all facets of the audit quality agenda when initiating, developing and implementing communications projects

  • Enable knowledge sharing throughout the Assurance BMC team, BMC function and the service line

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Significant experience in senior internal and external communications roles, ideally in a Big Four or another professional services organization

  • Success in delivering high-quality communications programs via multi-channel campaigns on a pan-regional or global basis

  • Creativity, curiosity and tenacity to solve problems and find impactful solutions

  • A good understanding of communications best practices

  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills in English (additional languages a plus) 

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in developing communications programs for large Audit or Assurance organizations

  • Knowledge of how to enhance digital channels to improve engagement

  • Experience with change management communications
