Our Financial Services EY EDGE practice is made up of a team of professionals providing dedicated tax technical services to both US and global clients. Your Key Responsibilities

Work independently, recognize and identify problem areas and items that need to be addressed or escalated to ensure Federal and State and Local Tax (SALT) returns, tax research, tax accounting and tax projects are timely, efficiently and accurately completed. Tax Projects including but not limited to implementation of new tax laws, analysis of Federal and SALT processes or calculations for compliance purposes. Lead the preparation and review of Federal and SALT Partnership returns with limited supervision. Responsible to solve moderately complex problems and interpret internal or external tax or financial issues and recommend solutions. Incumbents provide oversight (advising and providing direction) to others in financial areas of specialization and may coordinate daily work activities or review the work of other teammates. Employee works independently, with guidance in only complex situations. Incumbent has specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare or detail review of Federal & State Partnership tax workpapers, tax compliance filings and other tax related processes or tasks

  • Perform and document research and analysis on related tax issues

  • Keep knowledge up to date of new tax developments as well as of EY standard technologies and processes related to job function.

  • Compile and/or evaluate moderately complex data, computations, documentation and various tax and accounting technologies

  • Responsible for Service Quality across identified aspects of delivery. Understand opportunity risk in relation to our Scope of Services

  • Maintain internal network by providing technical assistance to others within EY in area of expertise

  • Provide effective oversight, feedback, and coaching to junior team members

  • Guide team members and be a role model on moderately complex tax projects.

  • Mentor/coach team members to develop technical and leadership capabilities

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of accounting and finance principles, practices, and procedures to complete moderately complex assignments

  • Proficient using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Power Point

  • Experience with financial and tax applications, such as Gosystems, Onesource TP, Corp Tax, as required by area of specialism

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Good communication skills (both written & verbal)

  • Proven conceptual and analytical ability

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Tax, Law, or Economics

  • A minimum of 3 years of increasingly diverse or moderately complex experience in related field

  • Ability to prioritize, handle and track multiple assignments

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Some supervision skills will be required

  • Strong oral and written communication as well as presentation skills

  • Experience with financial and tax applications such as GoSystems, CorpTax, Onesource, as required by area of specialism

  • Proficient using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Power Point

  • Proficiency in tax accounting systems
