Risk Management Process Supervising Associate

Join our Risk Management team and help protect EY from risks that arise from its professional practice. Risk Management teams provide coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, regulatory and risk management issues, as well as dealing with claims, and any queries regarding the organization’s ethics. You’ll help us meet our compliance responsibilities while supporting our client-facing teams as they deliver quality service to their clients.

The opportunity

As Risk Management Process Supervising Associate, you'll contribute to one or more Risk Management process(es). To achieve this, you'll develop knowledge in this process and related areas. The process helps identify and mitigate risk in client and vendor relationships. You'll be involved in one or more Risk Management Process teams such as the Ethics and Compliance team and liaise between the client teams and Risk Management.

In this role, you'll assist your team in advising professionals across a range of service lines, industry sectors and geographic Areas. This will involve dealing with complex, non-standard issues within the process(es). You'll also recommend modifications and enhancements, help the process(es) continue to support firm priorities and needs. You'll work with executive-level personnel, train and mentor team members, and achieve effective day-to-day operation of the process team.

You'll work independently, with periodic feedback.

Your key responsibilities

  • Support the Federal and State lobbying program, by determining filing requirements and completing required Firm filings, for review by Lobbying and Political Compliance Associate Director.

  • Assist with responses to consultations from Service Lines and other business units related to Lobbying and Political Compliance.

  • Operate compliance monitoring processes to identify potential compliance issues related to Lobbying and Political Compliance. Where such processes are operated by other teams, receive reports and data and identify compliance issues and trends.

  • Suggest improvements to training, communications, processes and controls to help the business efficiently operate whilst remaining compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Contribute knowledge to relevant Risk Management training programs for the business

  • Assist with monitoring of business compliance with policy requirements

  • Recommend ways to improve process(es), and/or develop new approaches, calling on your Risk Management and business experience

  • Support the resolutions of conflicts on complex or non - standard issues related to Lobbying and Political Compliance or other Risk Management processes. This will involve utilizing technical, service line or core infrastructure knowledge

  • Assist with the establishment and implementation of project plans, including goals and measures.

  • Keep documentation and information on process(es) up-to-date

  • Liaise between clients and members (including leaders) of Risk Management and various other functional areas within the firm (e.g., Center for Business Knowledge, Finance, IT, Strategic Sourcing)

  • Interact regularly with Risk Management assistant directors and associate directors on process issues, concerns and changes. Identify and implement leading practices on processes

  • Manage business relationships to meet or exceed expectations, by listening to their needs

  • Gain an understanding of the key requirements of firm policies and regulators' rules. Gain knowledge of Risk Management outside of your own area

  • Keep abreast of emerging knowledge, trends and lessons learned. Identify topics for training presentations, to communicate new developments (and their impact) to clients and Risk Management team members and support development of training material and assist in presenting at training sessions.

  • Develop relationships, and build a network of people within your team and across the firm

  • Identify key internal or external issues and risks related to anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering, trade sanctions or other Risk Management process(es)

  • Coordinate Risk Management process initiatives, and manage process teams

  • Use independent judgment and discretion, to identify issues, analyze risks across industry and service lines, and interpret relevant EY policies and guidelines

  • Gain a solid understanding of relevant parts of the EY business

To qualify you must have

  • 5-7+ years related experience

  • Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks

  • Ability to deliver tough messages to executive leaders within the firm

  • Good working knowledge of computers and common software packages

  • Experience designing and developing SharePoint sites and tools

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Familiarity with Risk Management initiatives outside of your specific area

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $74,000 to $134,200. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $88,800 to $152,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
