The opportunity

EY’s Software and IT Asset Management (SAM/ITAM) team works with some of the world’s largest companies. Our work streams range from software license compliance work with major global software vendors, to helping EY clients on matters including improving their processes/governance policies and establishing future focused strategies around software consumption and cloud migration.

The Solution Architect role will be a defined role within the SAM offering team and will be assigned to opportunities as dictated by prioritized demand. The role calls for flexibility and adaptability to be placed in a central role in shaping and closing complex deals across both sectors and offerings. Work directly with EY professionals, leaders and pursuit teams to define and execute solution strategies as well as contributing to shaping deal opportunities for SAM delivery throughout the pursuit cycle.

Your key responsibilities

  • Participate in assigned deal pursuits to understand client needs and align EY’s services to meet those needs in a repeatable, sustainable and profitable business model

  • Key focus in delivery feasibility and execution in relation to the proposed solution that compliments the EY response

  • Collaborate with pursuit teams and GMS Deal Team to define all elements of the solution model to accurately estimate the cost, effort, and timeline to deliver in collaboration

  • Ensure that transition and transformation estimate, and timelines are costed correctly, and timelines are achievable

  • Work closely with functional (Subject Matter Experts/Subject Matter Resources) SMEs/SMRs and technology/transformation leads to assist in development of target operating models, implementation plans, and client value propositions related to the solution and delivery expectations

  • Gain exposure and assist with business case and pricing model development during the pursuit as cost elements become available from SMEs/SMRs

  • Own cost and price inputs from SMEs/ SMRs that support the integrity of the design once compiled to ensure a design holistic model

  • Ensure solution and commercials are reflected in contractual documentation from an architectural design perspective and are accepted by delivery leaders

  • Present solutions confidently and accurately to client executives and EY internal leadership

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with pursuit teams and internal EY stakeholders

  • Engage with high performing teams through effective communication, core deliverable development and teamwork

  • Provide design leadership throughout the pursuit with focus on delivery feasibility, staffing and technology

  • Ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with pursuit teams as well as with team members across all EY practices

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Bachelor's degree and approximately 10 years of related work experience in consulting, managed services, solution architecture or related technology fields

  • Career knowledge of solution architecture or product management for technology services, managed services or other professional services

  • Well versed in deal cycles with mature exposure to pursuit processes

  • Demonstrated abilities in one or more of the following areas:

  • Solution Design or technology competency

  • Consulting

  • Delivery

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical writing and client presentations using tools such as PowerPoint/Excel/Word

  • Willingness to travel to meet client needs and ability to travel internationally; travel is estimated at 5-10 weeks per year
