The Complex Securities Valuation team at Ernst & Young uses sophisticated techniques from financial engineering and decision analytics to assist clients in understanding and valuing complex securities and in managing risk, for financial reporting, corporate strategy, transaction support, tax and regulatory compliance. What differentiates us is an emphasis on supportable methodologies for estimating value and robust analysis to help our clients manage risk – avoiding the ad-hoc or high-level qualitative approaches that many companies use. We focus on developing innovative, reliable methodologies to fully capture the complexity of our clients’ situations. We work on a wide variety of projects, giving each team member the opportunity to gain exposure to the broad range of securities or to specialize in a few areas to develop deeper expertise. We also expect everyone on the team not only to be able to develop models but also to be able to explain the key drivers of value to clients – we do not have a separate “front office” and “back office”, but hire and develop people who can do both.
We currently have an opportunity for skilled practitioners to join our talented team, in Gurugram office.
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Serve as a member of multiple client engagement teams, taking a lead role in understanding clients’ needs, conducting analyses and reporting results
Develop models to value a variety of financial instruments and to analyze various business situations, using option pricing theory, fixed income and structured finance models, Monte Carlo simulation, statistical analysis, optimization, decision analysis and other techniques from the financial engineering or decision sciences literature
Challenge yourself to continually learn and teach, mentoring others while developing your own career
Take ownership of your projects, while working collaboratively with other team members
Maintain and develop positive, productive, and professional relationships with clients
Competencies / skills:
A bachelors or advanced degree (masters) in a quantitative discipline, with demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis of financial instruments, including options, warrants, fixed income securities and other derivatives, or in analyzing business situations using quantitative models
A passion for valuing complex securities, including options, warrants, fixed income securities, structured products and other derivatives, or in analyzing complex business situations using quantitative models
Excellent analytical, project-management, communication, interpersonal, and teaming skills
The ability to work within a given budget and schedule, providing top-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
PC proficiency including at least one Financial Engineering or statistical software package (e.g. Matlab or Stata), Bloomberg, MS Excel/VBA, Word, and PowerPoint
