Job Summary:

As Communications and Engagement (C&E) Manager, you will produce strategic communications for various internal audiences, functional practices and other internal clients of EY’s Financial Services Organization (FSO). The FSO is a unique, industry-focused business unit that provides a broad range of integrated services across banking and capital markets, insurance, private equity, and wealth and asset management accounts.

Focused on informing and motivating various internal audiences around strategic priorities and initiatives, you will create and drive quality communications on behalf of internal clients for our more than 12,000 FSO professionals across the Americas. You will team closely with senior leaders to identify, design, develop, write, edit and manage a wide range of internal communications materials leveraging various media/channels, including newsletters/articles, presentations, online copy, scripts, videos, podcasts and town halls. Rallying together with members of the FSO C&E team, you will play an important role in creating and executing best-in-class communications and engagement programs while building strong relationships and working collaboratively with various internal stakeholders.

In this role, you'll receive general supervision and be expected to work independently, sometimes managing the work of others. You will also team with others on projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create moderate to complex communications for leaders that inform and motivate various internal and external audiences about markets, client programs, and developments affecting the strategy

  • Draft and execute messages through a variety of media. These include webcasts, videos, speeches, meetings, presentations, emails, daily alerts and intranet site updates

  • Gain an understanding of the business, markets functional and internal clientswe support, as well as the environmental factors affecting our business.

  • Work with senior leaders to develop and implement effective communications and engagement plans around strategic objectives and initiatives

  • Create, develop and manage the project scope and schedule for multiple simple to complex projects; plan, assign and manage resources appropriately

  • Develop relationships with project stakeholders and manage their expectations. Negotiate with and influence project sponsors on project specific items

  • Gain an understanding of the objectives of client service, operations and strategy

  • Ability to present complex ideas cogently to stakeholders. Communicate any ramifications of decisions and issues to project stakeholders, and present alternatives

  • Often act as project manager for large projects with multiple stakeholders or direct many activities of a major staff function

  • As the job involves preparing time-sensitive materials for internal clients and managing programs in a fast-paced environment, efficient time management and prioritization skills are essential and extended hours are often required

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • The ability to work across multiple functions (e.g., audit, tax, transaction, consulting), industries and/or your respective functional practice/internal client group

  • Confidence discussing key business issues with management

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including a proficiency in converting complex technical concepts into compelling messages

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Excellent listening and interpretation skills

  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills, including the development of junior staff

  • Strong project management skills

  • A minimum of 5-7 years communications experience

  • Bachelor's degree, with a Marketing or Communications major
