The opportunity

We are currently looking for individuals with experience working in the Insurance sector or advising Insurance clients and who possess strong risk management, regulatory and internal controls knowledge to join the Financial Services Risk Management team in EY

Your key responsibilities

  • As part of a team of professionals, provide advisoryservices to clients on the development and implementation of policies,systems and controls, and regulatory issues

  • Provision of regulatory compliance,risk assessment, business process controls and operational projects,including the development of project plans and approach

  • Design, enhancement, implementation and reviewof risk and compliance programs

  • The assessment of enterprise-wide, operationaland/or regulatory risk at all levels of the client’s corporate structure

  • Analyze client’s current business processesand understand their risk management environments

  • Assist clients in understanding and meetingregulatory requirements, including responding to the findings ofregulatory examinations

  • Review policies and procedures against HongKong regulatory requirements and against international best practices,identify opportunities for enhancement, assist clients in developing animplementation strategy and resolve implementation issues

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatorydevelopments both locally and internationally

  • Develop business opportunities and potentialopenings with clients

Skillsand attributes for success

  • Experience in analyzing or advising clients /business stakeholders on current and emerging Hong Kong risk andregulatory matters will be a definite advantage

  • Ability to interact with executive levels ofclient and EY management


To qualify for the role you must have

  • University degree majoring in risk management,accounting, analytics, actuarial, information systems or business relatedsubjects

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Hong Kong, Asia-Pacific andglobal insurance regulations

  • Practical experience acrossdisciplines such as enterprise risk / operational risk / conduct risk / thirdparty risk / regulatory advisory / internal controls / regulatory riskmanagement / risk analytics / risk and internal control frameworks

  • At least five years’experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a reputable international accounting/advisory/consultingorganization or multinational insurance companyor insurance regulator

  • Knowledge in analyzingregulations and proposed regulatory changes

  • Excellentcommunication and presentation skills

  • Strong communicationskills in English and Chinese (spoken and written)

Ideally,you’ll also have

  • Working knowledge ofSolvency II / equivalent Risk Based Capital regimes (Pillar 2 / ERM),Financial Risk, Product Risk, Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA),Stress and Scenario testing

  • An understanding ofindustry standards for internal controls / risk management such as COSOERM/ICF, ISO 31000, COBIT etc

  • Experience using eGRCplatforms such as RSA Archer, Metricstream, BWise, Refinitiv, Openpagesetc

  • An understanding ofinsurance distribution models

  • Effective time management and projectmanagement, interpersonal and influencing skills are essential

  • Client-serviceoriented and accustomed to taking a proactive approach

  • Relevant professionalqualifications such as HKICPA, CFA, FRM are preferred

  • Strong projectmanagement and coordination skills

  • An internationaloutlook having worked for large multinational clients or across multiplegeographies
