EY Senior Manager - TD&E – Oil & Gas Sector: This position could be located in TX.

As part of our Transformation Design and Execution (TDE) team, you will work with the senior leadership teams in our key accounts to structure and implement change, as well as creating the capability within our clients to drive change. You will merge your domain experience with program management knowledge to implement and embed improvements and deliver sustainable value.

The opportunity

Our clients are seeking and hiring a new type of Transformation Design expert – one who can integrate a background in energy with the delivery and success of their programs; someone who can talk both the language of consulting and of engineering. Our client stakeholders expect a consultant with strong engineering or process industry experience. Traditional consulting vendors often cannot provide the focused services that our energy clients now demand.

Our insights and capabilities across all portfolio levels in planning, analysis and delivery are integrated into our core offerings, differentiating our services from more traditional program management.

Your key responsibilities

It is expected that a Senior Manager will simultaneously drive client outcomes, pursue deals, and support internal team and solution development. A successful Transformation Design and Execution Senior Manager will work with our clients to design and establish a Transformation Management Office (TMO), Program Management Office (PMO) and/or Project or Product Portfolio Management Office. Senior Managers will also be involved in identifying market opportunities and building long term solution offerings, for example market gaps to drive digital innovations, such as Artificial Intelligence, within the energy sector.

Your role in leading teams or parts of teams on engagements will depend on the size of engagement and will be under responsibility of higher levels. They will look to you to anticipate and identify risks and escalate issues as appropriate

  • Possess good business acumen and remain current on new developments in consulting capabilities and industry trends.

  • Rapidly translate client needs to team structure; assemble and drive the team towards success.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills and be able to express yourself effectively, by breaking down complex structuresinto digestible and relevant points for a diverse set of clients and colleagues, at all levels

  • Team player that collaborates well in a group setting to quickly and effectively accomplish tasks.

  • Understand EY and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients. Develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree and approximately 10 years of related work experience; or a master's degree and approximately 8 years of related work experience

  • A valid driver's license in the US and a valid passport required; willingness to travel to meet client needs and ability to travel internationally; although most of our clients are in the greater Houston area, in some cases, travel may be required up to 60%

  • Demonstrated ability in workshop facilitation

  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern project management methodologies, such as the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFE) or equivalent.

  • Experience driving sales pursuits, RFP responses, solution definition and negotiations.

  • Experience in managing large-scale Business Transformation and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations

  • Experience leading teams, managing engagement economics and business development

  • Knowledge of Agile work management tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps.

  • Minimum 5 years of client facing experience in a professional consulting firm.

  • Oil & Gas Industry experience with robust operations expertise

  • Willingness to travel to meet client obligations

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Approximately 7 + years’ experience working in large scale, complex programs

  • Demonstrated ability to drive long term lasting relationships with your clients, colleagues and industry

  • Demonstrated thought leadership in a relevant domain

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the IT and program governance challenges related to large systems development and/or implementation projects

  • Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $148,900 to $340,200. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $178,700 to $386,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
