Job Summary:

As Engagement Practice Specialist, you'll provide high-level, functionally specialized administrative support for specific service line groups, practice leaders, or very large engagements. Your work will be closely aligned and integrated with the specialized needs, operations, strategies and business objectives of the engagement practice leader or partner. You'll collect, analyze and distribute data and recommendations. You'll also work within established deadlines, to handle projects directly or coordinate through others.

In this role, you'll interface extensively with internal/external clients, to develop strong working relationships. Your assignments will frequently be specialized or complex in nature, and will vary, based on the scope and size of the engagement/project. You'll work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the administrative liaison for large engagements or assigned practice leader(s). Liaise with senior management and clients/colleagues to facilitate work

  • Manage complex calendars, travel and meetings for leaders or engagement teams, using firm tools

  • Cultivate build key relationships with internal/external business leaders to achieve goals

  • Collaborate with internal/client resources and practice/engagement leaders, to achieve results and resolve issues

  • Independently compose, format, and edit non-technical business documents from draft stage to client ready work. This involves using organizational templates, branding and correspondence guidelines. Protect confidential internal and engagement materials

  • Develop knowledge of firm and service line record retention policies. Reinforce compliance of these policies

  • Help to achieve Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) and independence compliance. Assist with the global tool for acceptance (GTAC), engagement/practice economics processes, licensing and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits

  • Work with relevant finance personnel on engagement/practice finance matters

  • Astutely manage competing priorities and deadlines. Work independently, exercising considerable judgment and decision-making

  • Identify and proactively escalate potential issues of quality, confidentiality or risk

  • Gain mastery of applicable organizational, service line, and engagement-specific technology application/tools

  • Develop an advanced understanding and application of EY's policies and procedures

  • Build a high level of knowledge of Q&RM policies including confidentiality (i.e., global accounting & acceptance tool (GAAIT), Tax practice guidance & tool (TPG&T))

  • Project manage or coordinate work or teams, with responsibility for project deliverables

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • English language skills - excellent written and verbal communication

  • Advanced interpersonal, presentation, diplomacy, and teaming skills, direct or virtual

  • Strong knowledge sharing and collaboration skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service, with a strong focus on quality assurance

  • Highly skilled at navigating organizational structures, changing environments, and sensitive relationships

  • Strong knowledge of the services and operational activities of an engagement, practice group, or service line and related clients/industries

  • Ability to resolve complex problems, with strong analytical, organizational and research skills

  • At least 5 or more years of related business experience

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
