Tax Advisor - National Tax - SQL Core/Development - Tax Technology & Transformation - (Manager) (Multiple Positions) (1524421) Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, Houston, TX.

Provide business tax services and tax technology services to help client companies meet complex demands for direct tax reporting, compliance and planning. Assist with the production of leading practice tax software solutions, and support and automate internal and external operations of multinational tax departments. Assess operational and tax life cycle to further optimize workstreams and departmental processes. Use analytics tools such as SQL or Power BI to optimize tax department operations and data transformation, and create solutions applicable to all parts of the tax life cycle. Focus on tax accounting topics such as uncertain tax positions, APB 23 assertions, and stock compensation accounting. Explain tax accounting subjects and needs to SQL developers, to aid the development of new tax technology and transformation tools.

Manage and motivate teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress. Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law, Management Information Systems, Tax, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in tax process improvement. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Law, Management Information Systems, Tax, or a related field and 4 years of work experience in tax process improvement.

Must have 4 years of experience in income tax processes and/or operational assessments.

Must have 3 years of experience in analytics tools, including Microsoft Power BI, SAP Business Objects, or Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.

Must have 2 years of experience in implementing income tax provision and compliance tools in one or a combination of any of the following: ONESOURCE, Corptax, Longview, and/or Oracle Tax Reporting.

Must have 2 years of development experience using Visual Basic for Applications and SQL.

Must have 1 year of experience in supervising teams consisting of at least 2 people on multiple projects and providing direction to team members.

Requires domestic travel up to 50% in order to serve client needs.
