Job Summary:

The SAP GTS Manager consultant in our Global Trade practice will use his/her experience and technical knowledge of SAP GTS to manage the design and delivery of trade automation solutions to our clients through our different service offerings. The successful candidate will focus on identifying, designing, and delivering solutions that can solve various challenges in a client’s business operations.

The manager must be able to design and configure SAP GTS to meet client needs, requirements and expectations. A candidate must also be able to manage client projects and our team of resources to deliver high-quality work products. You will collaborate and work with our global trade colleagues in other countries and regions to deliver SAP GTS technology solutions.

The role will require deep knowledge and experience designing, configuring, testing, and deploying SAP GTS technology solutions across a wide array of industries, including but not limited to: Oil & Gas, Life Sciences, Aerospace & Defense, Consumer Products & Retail, Technology, and durable goods Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage SAP GTS softwareimplementation projects, working closely with technical implementation teamsand consulting teams through major phases, including requirements, design, softwareconfiguration, system integration, testing, cutover and go-live.

  • Help to ensure key projectcomponents are in place such as setting up appropriate project organization, aclear statement of requirements and benefits, planning and scheduling projectactivities, controlling the execution of project plans, managing risk andquality, configuration management, and change control

  • Direct and motivate the projectteam, while planning and monitoring the project with regards to time, cost andresources when delivering the required outputs

  • Prepare and stage project, ifnecessary create exception plans in conjunction with project team whilepartnering with the client program management, and Project Management Office;report and present to the client program management through status reports andstage assessments as a good and fair arbiter, understanding differentperspectives when project situations arise and representing all best intereststo find a solution

  • Throughout a SAP GTS software implementation,the manager is responsible for:

  • Managing project work streams and associated resourcesand deliverables

  • Leading and participating in functional and processrequirement workshops with clients to define business, process andfunctional/data requirements related to global trade operations (imports,exports and localization requirements)

  • Leading and participating in SAP GTS business andtechnical solution design workshops

  • Developing and reviewing software implementation workproducts and deliverables

  • Configuring various aspects of SAP GTS functionalmodules and processes

  • Providing training to supportend users and other key stakeholders on deployed functionality

  • Understandfull suite of EY global trade service offerings and able to present toclients.

  • Adviseclients on global trade advisory needs and integrate with our network ofdedicated global trade professionals.

  • Keepinformed of current global customs/trade developments and effectivelyapply knowledge to client situations.

  • Understandand keep informed of new SAP GTS functionalities to be applied as a clientsolution.

Qualifications, Education and Certification:

  • Abachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, International Businessor a related field; a master's degree or JD highly preferred. Candidates possessing a US Customs Brokerslicense will be considered.

  • Approximatelyfive or more years of related work experience in industry, a professionalservices firm, a Fortune 500 company or a major importer is helpful.

  • Proven experience (+8 years) in SAP GTS softwareimplementation projects

  • Deeptechnical knowledge in configuring and testing SAP GTS.

  • Abilityto proactively engage clients to describe and market our value-add globaltrade services and deliver high-quality project deliverables.

  • Proficiencyin a technology-enabled environment – experience with trade automation, globaltrade management systems/software and data analytic tools is highly soughtafter.

  • Foreignlanguage capabilities highly encouraged.

  • Successfulproject management experience with excellent organizational skills, strongmotivation and a positive attitude.

  • Travellikely to be required; percentage will depend on location, skill set andindividual projects.

  • Independently coaches, mentors and motivates projectteams to influence a positive, accountable and collaborative approach.

  • Effectively communicates project expectations to allteam members and stakeholders, including business representatives,partners, customers and consultants.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in professional services together with the ability to listen to a client’s needs and develop a value proposition to expand new business

  • Experience with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Bureau of Industry and Security, Office of Foreign Assets Control, or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls

  • Foreign language capabilities encouraged
