EY Technology supports our technology needs through three business units:

Client Technology (CT) - focuses on developing new technology services for our clients. It enables EY to identify new technology-based opportunities faster and pursue those opportunities more rapidly.

Enterprise Technology (ET) – ET supports our Core Business Services functions and will deliver fit-for-purpose technology infrastructure at the cheapest possible cost for quality services. ET will also support our internal technology needs by focusing on a better user experience.

Information Security (Info Sec) - Info Sec prevents, detects, responds and mitigates cyber-risk, protecting EY and client data, and our information management systems.

The opportunity

The role of the Data Visualization Specialist is to assist the IT Risk Management team in delivering targeted reporting to key audiences within the EY Technology family across a multitude of topics and data sources. In addition, the individual filling the role will help the ITRM team better understand how to collect, organize, and sort data for use in analysis.

Your key responsibilities

The IT Risk Management function creates and maintains EY Technologies’ risk management framework, processes, tooling, and strategy. Our primary objectives primary objectives for IT Risk Management are to enable IS to build a risk-aware culture, reduce IT risk, defend against internal and external threats, and protect client and EY data.

We’re looking for a Data Visualisation specialist to join our team! Our ideal candidate is a person who is passionate about delivering insight through creative data analysis and understands how to tell a compelling story with data. This person understands the user experience (UX)in reading data is just as important as the data itself. Our team thrives on sharing knowledge and we expect our candidate to do the same, actively seeking to train and educate others on improving how data is accessed and presented to decision makers. This is a key role supporting analytics and broader risk management activities, and touches technology operations across CT, ET, and IS.

  • You will be responsible for spreading data literacy and enthusiasm for data visualisation

  • You will design and develop dynamic dashboards/reports and interactive visualizations utilizing various reporting components from multiple data sources

  • You will collaborate with data owners to improve data quality in those data repositories where there are data quality issues.

  • You will identify opportunities to automate, optimize performance, consolidate and simplify dashboards

  • You will continuously look for innovation data visualisation solutions using new tools and technology and contribute to thought leadership at EY

  • You will educate and train your colleagues and clients to build reports, dashboards and connect to data while also providing visual best practices and design guidance to achieve data-driven decisions

  • Aid in the development and execution of a risk reporting strategy, including leading a working group to define metrics and source data

  • Maintain a portfolio of executive level risk reporting

  • Align with industry standard on risk reporting practices, and ensure compliance with reporting standards including templates, EY branding, and associated protocol

Skills and attributes for success

  • 5+ years of hands-on reporting design and development experience using one or more tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, ThoughtSpot, Spotfire, MicroStrategy, Houdini

  • Intermediate SQL / data preparation skills are essential with additional programming in languages such as Python or R a huge bonus.

  • Experience with large data sets, analysing data, extracting relevant information and producing actionable and effective reporting dashboards and visual solutions user-friendly reports for a diverse set of users

  • Proven capability and desire to develop junior staff, build high performing teams and effectively delegate with appropriate levels of support

  • Ability to communicate effectively with business partners, data engineers, data scientist and analysts

  • Project management skills and experience managing multiple projects

  • Proven experience in collaborating with data engineers, analytics, reporting professionals and data scientists generating actionable insights

  • A risk mindset

  • One or more of the following or equivalent certifications preferred: Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Security Processional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information System Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) in related area, CIPP, CIPT

  • Experience with RSA Archer

  • Experience managing the communication to senior leaders in relation to our risk management program

  • Experience in developing and executing reporting strategies

  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills

  • Strong judgment and analytical ability

  • Ability to communicate and gain support for initiatives

  • Strong English language skills; excellent writing, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills are required

  • Ability to understand and integrate cultural differences and motives and to lead cross cultural teams.

  • An ability to utilize core risk and controls skills in a broad range of projects both in a traditional internal audit and in advisory projects aimed at assisting in the implementation of controls / improvements.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Experience in IT Risk Management and/or Information Security disciplines

  • Experience in communicating to all levels of management, clients and vendors

  • Ability to appropriately balance internal functional needs with business impact and benefit

  • Skilled in executive level presentations and briefings

  • Solid knowledge and working experience in governance, risk and compliance as applies to technology

  • Experience on a cloud based big data platform such as AWS and Azure

  • Experience in engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience in (or a willingness to learn) how to performance tune dashboards/ reports and apply security roles

  • Experience in (or a willingness to learn) design thinking, prototyping, wire-framing, and other design tools
