EY’s Financial Services (FS) practice is currently undergoing exciting change and has recently made a move to 25 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf. The business is rapidly growing and enjoys the full technical support of our existing centres of excellence in London, Edinburgh and Bristol.

This role has become available in light of new business wins within our Banking and Capital Markets audit practice. This will be an opportunity to bring your experience within Banking audit to join our talented team of auditors on a very reputable client.

You will provide support to the team through efficiency and productivity of managing an engagement, demonstrating strong commercial awareness that consists of the latest industry knowledge and trends.

Yourresponsibilities

  • Manage the Audit process withappropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technicalmatters.

  • Lead and manage fieldwork on clientssites including liaising with other departments to ensure the smooth deliveryof the Audit process.

  • Demonstrate Business Development skillsand identify additional sales opportunities

  • Demonstrate an application andsolution-based approach to problem solving, referred to for research ondelivery of solutions in that field on client assignments

  • Demonstrate expertise in primaryaccounting frameworks (UK GAAP or IFRS) and in related financial reportingmatters

  • Demonstrate expertise in using GAM toperform an assurance engagement in compliance with auditing standards

  • Identify areas requiring improvement inthe clients business processes and possible recommendations and prepare anddeliver Management Letter to be provided to the client

  • Influence, change and shape thedirection of a particular activity, either internally and/or externally

  • Coach other less experienced staffthrough sharing experience and knowledge appropriately.

  • Contribute to effective team work ininternal engagement situations.

  • Provide on-the-job training fordeveloping auditing skills and familiarity with the firm's audit methodology

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent

  • Qualified ACCA/ CA/ ACA (ICAEW, ICAS,Irish Institute or equivalent international qualification)

  • Experience managing audit teams in theBanking & Capital Markets industry

  • Recent external audit experience atSenior Manager level
