Are you an experienced Bid Manager? Do you want to be part of a dynamic, highly skilled and valued pursuit (bid) team?
Our team is helping set EY apart from our competition, playing a vital role in helping EY achieve its growth ambitions as part of our Vision 2020+ strategy. Our UK and Ireland (UK&I) target is to more than double the business to £2.2bn by 2020 and EU reforms are leading to a huge increase in the number and value of pursuits. You will be a key part of the team that is responsible for the development and execution of winning pursuit strategies. In your role, you and the team working on the tender, will demonstrate our understanding of the client, showcase our credentials and clearly articulate the EY differentiators and value proposition. You will project manage every element of the entire process, ensuring every interaction with our clients is well planned.
Develop storyboard to enable appropriate contributors and subject matterexperts to produce proposal content
Establish a project plan detailing the entire proposal process, timelineand procedures to meet the needs of each specific pursuit
Monitor progress of all pursuit team activities to ensure adherence todeadlines, action plans and quality standards
Provide effective challenge and coaching throughout the process toencourage teams to think differently
Lead the development of proposal and meeting materials during the fullcycle of the pursuit in coordination with internal design team
Ensure that message quality, format, and content meet the client’sobjectives and are consistent with firm-wide communication guidelines
Conduct final editing, proofing and delivery of materials to ensureconsistency
Attend and actively contribute to all kick-off strategy, status,follow-up/debrief, and presentation preparation meetings
Facilitate meetings with internal stakeholders to evaluate the businessissues and service responses required to meet the clients’ needs
on an ongoingbasis
Team with pursuit, business development and other EY departments asappropriate to develop stakeholder maps and client-facing activities
Establish and build relationships throughout business development in thecontext of individual pursuits and wider best practice and initiatives
Define standards and drive best practice to ensure that leadingpractices are shared within the pursuits team and across the wider firm
Contribute to team wide initiatives to build a best in class bidfunction
Identify operational improvement opportunities, proposing, developingand executing solutions on an on-going basis
Skills andattributes for success
Ability to coordinate multiple projects and initiatives
Ability to work to tight deadlines, with the flexibility to deal withrapidly changing situations
Be proactive in taking the lead and ownership of projects
Effectively interact with all levels within the organisation, includingPartners, by challenging, influencing and coaching
Ability to work in a matrix environment and as a team player, workingcollaboratively, virtually and independently
To qualify forthe role you must have
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Substantial and demonstrable manager level, bid / project managementexperience
Experience of public sector bidding
Strong communication skills - written and verbal
Demonstrable ability to develop trusted business relationships withsenior stakeholders
Ability to think commercially and strategically
Ideally (butnot essential as we value diversity), you’ll also have
- Working knowledge of a professional services organisation
