Digital and social media is important for EY UK and Ireland’s engagement with a wide range of stakeholders including clients, potential recruits and existing employees. EY has a wealth of rich content and expert commentators and it is important that their effectiveness is maximised through a coherent and strategic approach to digital and social. Internal social media is an increasingly important channel for employee engagement.
You will be responsible for devising and delivering a strategy which is fully integrated with the firm’s wider communications strategy and ensures that the impact of digital and social media assets is maximised. You will be expected to ensure rigorous measurement and evaluation of digital and social media activity is used to refine and improve future strategy.
This is an important role in bringing innovation to EY’s Brand, Marketing and Communications function to move the firm towards a ‘digital first’ approach, by leading our innovation team and work with other functions (legal, procurement etc.) to activate new tools and technology.
Your key responsibilities
You will be responsible for defining the online customer journey and ensuring that that journey can be mapped as part of sales campaigns and other marketing activity to incrementally improve thecustomer experience over time. As well as providing marketing counsel and advice to teams within EY’s Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) function so that they can achieve their digital goals while also ensuring alignment and coordination of digital communication to specific audiences.
Reporting to the Strategic Communications Director, UK & Ireland and working closely with marketing managers and external communications managers, you will be a strong contributor to the communications team and will contribute as part of that team to a wider communications strategy, as well as leading a team of three digital and social media specialists.
Working collaboratively, you will have the intellectual rigour and creative flair to develop and implement a digital and social media strategy which is impactful, engaging and aligned to EY’s brand, marketing and communications strategy and business objectives.
Skills and attributes for success
Strong senior relationship management and counselling experience
Excellent writing capabilities
Experience of managing/coaching people
Demonstrable experience of coaching and supporting senior leaders in the delivery of effective communications
To qualify for the role you must have
Extensive journalism/ agency experience or communications and engagement experience in a corporate environment
Experience of creating and executing social media and digital communications strategies that support business objectives
Knowledge and experience of best practice website development and management
Knowledge and experience of best practice in social media campaigns and evaluation
Experience of working with internal and external agencies
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience of working in professional services or matrix organisations or large corporates
Experience in commissioning and creating print and digital media
