In this role, you’ll use your skills, experience and initiative to support our client-serving teams and other parts of the financial services business to make a difference to the clients and communities we serve.
This is a 6 month fixed term contractsupporting the Senior ER Manager and the team of HR Business Consultants in providing a commercial and professional HR service to the FS business in the UK with particular emphasis on the end to end management of employee relations cases. This role will suit an existing ER Manager or an experienced HR Manager wanting to specialise in ER.
Your key responsibilities
You will provide advice to line managers and senior stakeholders on operational issues (such as performance management and the capability process, absence management, disciplinaries and grievances, redundancy programmes, TUPE, tribunals etc.), and work with them to resolve issues and the end to end management of complex ER cases.
Acting as a specific ER contact for line managers and HR colleagues, you will take responsibility for analysing problems and providing accurate and timely advice and solutions on an independent basis, as well as supporting them to develop their people management skills through coaching on issues and more formal training programmes.
Skills and attributes for success
Evidence of having dealt with busy work load in an organised manner, juggling multiple priorities and with attention to detail where there are competing demands on workload and deliverables.
Strong UK employment law knowledge.
Commercial awareness; engages business leaders on the options available and risks.
Good interpersonal and communication skills. Able to establish credibility and present information effectively both orally and in writing.
Able to build relationships quickly.
Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
To qualify for the role you must have
Proven experience of working in an HR environment at Manager level, with substantial ER case load.
CIPD qualification and/or proven experience of managing ER cases.
High degree of ER expertise – keeps updated, credible and seen as point of advice and guidance for ER issues demonstrating process/technical expertise.
Ideally, you’ll also have
Previous experience within a professional/ financial services environment or a large, matrixed environment.
Proficient experience of Excel and manipulating data, SharePoint.
