EY’s EMEIA Tax Centre (ETC) are looking for tax accounting professionals to join our fast growing Global Compliance and Reporting (GCR) team. The role will give you the opportunity to work on EY’s largest multi-country client engagements in a tax accounting and direct tax capacity.
As a Senior Consultant in the team, you will get exposure of working directly with the group tax function and support them in managing tax risks in their business. The role is highly practical and commercial. You will have an opportunity to use your tax accounting and tax compliance skills on a day-to-day basis.
You will support clients in managing their global tax compliance, delivering their interim group tax reporting and embedding processes to identify tax risk. You will have an opportunity to support clients on process improvement as well as driving process improvement in EY.
You will join the GCR practice in the ETC which includes 150 professionals specializing in direct tax, tax accounting, indirect taxes, statutory reporting, bookkeeping, service management, payroll and company secretarial services.
The team is based across the EMEIA region with major hubs in the UK, Belgium, Netherlands and Poland. Together we deploy strong multi-skilled teams working seamlessly across countries and service lines.
The tax accounting and direct tax specialists work closely with the client group tax function. Their role enables them to build a wide network across EY service lines and countries as they bring together all of the EY services and expertise available to meet their client needs.
Our team work exclusively on large, multi-country compliance engagements.
You will have an opportunity to work with some of EY’s largest, most complex corporate clients providing you with a continued opportunity to learn and develop. Our clients operate in all business sectors with the exception of financial services. There is an opportunity for you to specialize in a sector or gain experience of different sector needs.
We partner with our clients to deliver compliance across the organization on contracts which range from 3 – 7 years in duration. We typically work with the client’s group or regional tax function.
Many of our clients are undergoing major change and transformation in their record to report processes. You will have the opportunity to work with groups who have mature offshore models and those who need support transitioning to that model over time.
Your key responsibilities
Preparing tax provisions and reviewing outputs from EY local country teams
Assisting in coordination of client accounts
Supporting on pursuits including response to RFPs
Reviewing tax legislative updates and opportunities globally to share with our clients
Coaching graduate trainees
Reviewing local country tax outputs and compiling tax analytics
Key point of contact for EY local country teams
Working with ourCentresof Excellence in Philippines, Argentina and Poland.
Skills and attributes for success
US GAAP and / or IFRS tax accounting experience such as provision preparation or tax audit work
Corporate income tax experience (any country)
Good communication skills
An ability to distill complex concepts into simple messages
Organized and able to manage your work load
Experience reviewing codes, time and budgets
Accounting or tax qualification
Willing to travel
