EY Technology supports our technology needs through three business units:
Client Technology (CT) - focuses on developing new technology services for our clients. It enables EY to identify new technology-based opportunities faster, and pursue those opportunities more rapidly.
Enterprise Workplace Technology (EWT) – EWT supports our Core Business Services functions and will deliver fit-for-purpose technology infrastructure at the cheapest possible cost for quality services. EWT will also support our internal technology needs by focusing on a better user experience.
Information Security (Info Sec) - Info Sec prevents, detects, responds and mitigates cyber-risk, protecting EY and client data, and our information management systems.
The SAM team seeks a SAMLead to help us drive the maximum value from our software contracts. Reporting to the Director of Vendor Services Integration, and working independently, the successful candidate will be accountable for leadership and foresight to maintain a leading-edge, world-class Software Asset Management program; direct the overall operations of SAM; define strategy & processes, prioritize workload based on value, identify and execute opportunities to improve, manage performance and communications; interface with key leaders, vendors, and other personnel to develop and maintain the relationships needed to affect the firm’s asset management goals.
You will work across the business to establish proper software governance. Many of EY’s key client offerings depend on complex software contacts. Working with the front end of the business to understand risks and align software purchasing with needs. You will work with EY’s global Technology Sourcing team to drive global contract models maximizing business value. You will help set the agenda for SAM on an annual basis and drive activities across the business to maximize value and minimize risk.
The successful candidate will lead a team of software asset management analysts around the world leveraging EY’s global client serving SAM community, to keep our internal processes and tools at the forefront of the discipline. Beyond SAM, you will work promote and contribute to the Vendor Service Integration function through effective relationship building, both with key internal clients in the wider organization and external clients where required. You will work with our vendor management, hardware asset management and configuration management functions to maintain an integrated approach to working with our 3 rd party vendors.
Have substantial experience in a software asset management role (either in-house or from a consulting perspective) with an emphasis on large, enterprise software contracts such as IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, SAP, Adobe, analytics software such as Tableau, and infrastructure solutions such as VMware.
Solid understanding of software asset management tools and technologies, including discovery technology (SCCM), service management (ServiceNow) and software recognition engines (BDNA)
Understand contractual models for sale/purchase of software and how to extract value in terms of cost savings & cost avoidance during a contracts lifetime and optimisation at its renewal.
Understand software maintenance models and the practicalities of chargeback in a complex, matrixed organization.
Experience of software contract audits (either working in-house or from an execution standpoint)
Drive cost savings out of remodeling software licensing agreements and usage patterns
Design, build, and optimize key data reports that build accurate compliance and management reporting
Experience working with global procurement teams
Demonstrate a track record of developing successful relationships with key client stakeholders.
Experience with working in a global organization with resources around the world
Have experience of managing and coaching more junior team members
Demonstrate a proven ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines.
Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and focus on delivering high quality work
Be commercially aware and have a track record of successful business development.
Leading teams to deliver SAM engagements for internal clients, ensuring that the agreed scope of work is delivered to the required standards, reporting to the Director of Vendor Services Integration
Drive the entire life-cycle of a SAM project. This includes producing and presenting intermediate, analytical, and final results and assuring projects are conducted and closed to the satisfaction of all parties
Operating as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor in the domain of software licencing and optimization
Designing and implementing approaches to meeting client requirements according to specific organisational and technology environments
Act as an evangelist for the Vendor Services Integration function, promoting holistic vendor management (software, hardware and services) across the firm
Supervising and coaching a global team of professionals around the world
