Digital Growth is driving the development of complex data ecosystems which traditional approaches to data management cannot support. EY are investing in building solutions that can and need your experience and vision to help implement them at our top tier global Investment Bank clients.
This role is open to be located in London and Edinburgh.
We are looking for Data Professionals who are eager to build on their experience working in Financial Services Data Office organisations, Compliance programmes or Innovation teams to build new approaches to driving value and managing Data Risks. You’ll realise that digitised policy and compliance are essential to allow data usage to scale. You’ll relish using new Cloud and AI approaches to automate traditional data challenges. Most of all, you’ll be determined to develop a career that puts innovation at the centre of delivering an inclusive and inspiring Data Culture.
Your key responsibilities
Working as part of a delivery team on client engagements related to Data, with a specific focus likely on all Data aspects such as Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, Data Engineering and Advanced analytics - including outputs that support:
enablement of Data Policy, Ownership, Definitions, Lineage and Controls
Implementation of data tooling technologies, other emerging technologies or supporting enablement of data pipelines
regulatory compliance activities
realising data sharing arrangements across and between firms
developing new approaches to managing Data Privacy and Ethics
assessment of current state data maturity and identification of new operating models and technical improvements.
Supporting development of new EY data solutions and methods that will improve effectiveness and reduce costs of current practices
Supporting preparation of market perspective and pursuit material
Skills and attributes for success
The right attitude and experience in one or more of our core areas of competency
Strong communication, presentation and business and technical writing skills;
Ability to provide excellent client service and manage and build strong relationships both internally and externally, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating operations with technology skills; and
Awareness of emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies.
To qualify for the role you must have
Significant experience working in capital markets with Chief Data Officers or Enterprise Data functions including work with current and emerging data technologies such as Data Fabrics, Data Governance platforms and Data Quality solutions
Strong understanding of Capital Markets including the key terms and concepts
Knowledge of regulations – especially MIFID II and FRTB. SFTR, EMIR, Dodd Frank, CSDR BCBS 239
Strong understanding of front to back trade lifecycles and booking models
Strong product knowledge, with the ability to face off to front office and risk functions in particular
Understanding of the capital markets ecosystem (sell side, buy side, FMIs, service providers, vendors)
Understanding of technology trends and implications on the FS industry, including digital drivers, cloud architecture & providers, integration tools & approaches, and artificial intelligence methods & techniques
Knowledge of the common functions in a typical Data organisation
Passion for the delivery of data technology solutions that deliver positive outcomes for customers, regulators and shareholders
A university degree, preferably in computer science, engineering, business and information or similar, with a minimum of a 2:1 (or equivalent)
Ideally, you’ll also have
Cloud technology (knowledge of any or all of Azure, AWS and Google would be beneficial)
Interest and awareness in emerging technologies
Experience in data analysis and using data to solve complex business problems;
Experience with data tools, for example: AbInitio, Cloudera, Hadoop (and other Big Data solutions), Informatica, Qlik, Tableau, Teradata
