We’re recruiting for a confident and experienced Senior Developer to join the Learning Lab, a creative learning solutions team within PAS, to develop innovative digital learning solutions for EY’s clients.
The post-holder will be required to collaborate closely with design specialists, developers and software architects within the Learning Lab, as well as with EY stakeholders and external clients, translating complex learning ideas into high quality and engaging interactive experiences.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead Developer and Learning Lab leads to shape and innovate the Learning Lab’s digital learning products and solutions, and development approach. The Senior Developer is expected to contribute at each stage of the end-to-end design and development process and will be responsible for executing key processes. The post-holder will be required to work collaboratively within a team of front-end/digital learning developers and work closely with global and 3 rd party development teams (where required).
The candidate will have experience of developing innovative and impactful digital content solutions, using the latest e-Learning authoring tools, LMS and LXP platforms, as well as having a core set of digital design and development skills that will enable the Design Lab to deliver world-class digital learning products.
Your key responsibilities
Design and develop highly engaging & interactive digital learning content (including but not limited to eLearning, microlearning, interactive video, games and gamified content and immersive solutions such as simulations) to enhance the learning experience
Work closely with team members and clients to help translate ideas into engaging and interactive digital learning experiences by utilising human-centred design techniques; creating wireframes, concepts, mock-ups and prototypes
Contribute to shaping the scope of digital learning solutions, working closely with Lead Developer and specialist design leads from across the Learning Lab team, presenting and communicating ideas to stakeholders and clients
Collaborate closely with team leads, Learning experience designers, Creative designers, and Developers, both onsite and virtually, to achieve the timely delivery of high-quality digital learning deliverables
Develop best-in-class interactive solutions with intuitive UX/UI design
Work effectively at each stage of the end-to-end design and development process to produce high quality deliverables at all stages
Thoroughly test, debug and troubleshoot solutions to ensure they are identified and corrected, and meet the required standards; successfullyobtaining sign off from team leads and clients
Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice development processes that enable the team to deliver high quality, scalable solutions, and proactively look for opportunities to improve existing process
Prioritise effectively and work on multiple project deliverables with tight deadlines
Communicate clearly and with confidence and proactively share ideas and issues with the Lead Developer, project leads and other specialists within the Lab
Leverage data and analytics to effectively evaluate the impact of solutions
Contribute to shaping the Lab’s digital learning offering and take ownership for aspects of the innovation roadmap
Research, evaluate, and prototype emerging technologies/approaches
Quickly identify, learn, and troubleshoot new tools, platforms, and production processes
Practice and People management:
Provide timely, authentic and constructive feedback to colleagues and seek feedback in return
Assist with the integration and inclusion of new team members
Be up to date with key technical and functional skills, and with latest development trends - and share this expertise with others
Encourage development of junior team members though formal and informal coaching

Skills and attributes for success
Demonstrable experience of using rapid authoring tools such as articulate, Adobe captivate, Evolve, Adapt, Lectora etc.)
Demonstratable knowledge of UX and UI design methods
Demonstratable experience of developing and deploying of digital learning solutions
Passion for developing new ideas and continuously innovating the solutions we can create
Ability to work on multiple projects/initiatives and work to tight deadlines, with the flexibility to deal with rapidly changing situations
Be professional, quickly establishing personal credibility and demonstrating expertise
Take a proactive and practical approach to leading, owning and innovating development activities
Have a collaborative mindset
Be effective in recognising and managing potential issues during client assignments
Experience using, researching, and implementing design and development tools and processes
To qualify for the role you must have
5+ years’ experience working in a web development or digital learning development role creating interactive content experiences.
Experience of working with rapid eLearning authoring tools (eg. Storyline, Lectora, Evolve, Adapt, Rise etc)
User-centric design skills with a focus on UX and UI
Experience working with LMS, LXP, or CMS platforms
Experience using browser development tools to diagnose and fix bugs
Experience using code editor development tools such as Visual Studio or Dreamweaver
Experience using prototyping tools such as Sketch, Invision and Adobe XD
Experience of working in a development team and acting as coaching junior developers
Excellent collaboration, communication and relationship management skills
Excellent attention to detail
Experience of developing content that meets accessibility standards such as WCAG
Demonstrated track record of building effective client relationships
Ideally, you’ll also have
A primary degree, any post graduate degrees, and professional qualifications in relevant subject expertise (Web development or similar) are desirable but not critical.
Experience of working on digital learning or interactive content projects gained working within an agency or professional services or consulting firm
