Job Summary:

Has overall responsibility for a team and/or a portfolio of highly complex projects and programs. Partners with leaders and sponsors to align projects and teams to key business priorities and drivers. Position will be responsible for planning, executing and deploying projects and/or programs. Projects and programs require in depth knowledge of operations, process and technology enablement in order to consult, develop solutions and solve business problems (i.e. increasing cost effectiveness, minimizing statutory risks, enhancing quality of services provided, designing/deploying new technologies and processes, etc.). Position has budget and resource responsibilities.

The Innovation Strategy & Operations Program manager works with the CEO of the NextGen Audit project, the Global Innovation Enablement Leader and other team members to manage the Audit NextGen initiative and drive a portfolio of Enablement initiatives across key focus areas including: Ideation, portfolio management, Idea scaling, network relationships, skills and incentives, external trends analysis and engagement with the external / startup community. Position will be responsible for planning, executing and deploying projects and/or programs. The individual is accountable for ensuring operational cadence, implementing appropriate operational milestones, and leading and providing consistent operational support, guidance, strategy, and processes for the NextGen team, the Global Innovation Enablement team and the various extended team members we work with (SLs, sectors, Regions/Areas, etc.).

Projects and programs require in depth knowledge of operations, process and technology enablement in order to consult, develop solutions and solve business problems (i.e. increasing cost effectiveness, minimizing statutory risks, enhancing quality of services provided, designing/deploying new technologies and processes, etc.). Position has budget and resource responsibilities.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Act as operational leader to the Enablement Leader

  • Lead strategic projects benefitting and supporting all of Global Innovation and broader EY Innovation teams

  • Ensure the teams operate according to plan and delivers various initiatives on schedule. Troubleshoot as needed

  • Serve as liaison between Enablement team other Global Innovation teams (e.g., Emerging Tech team, Venture Portfolio), key business units, and internal EY operations (i.e., IT, HR, procurement) to ensure alignment and collaboration on key initiatives

  • Develop and track high level success metrics across all Enablement activities (e.g., level of implementation / adoption)

  • Assist Enablement leader in day to day activities including running team meetings, providing status updates, and managing stakeholder engagement activities

  • Interact comfortably and confidently with the highest levels of leadership across the firm

  • Act as operational leader to the Enablement Leader

  • Lead strategic projects benefitting and supporting all of Global Innovation and broader EY Innovation teams

  • Ensure the teams operate according to plan and delivers various initiatives on schedule. Troubleshoot as needed

  • Serve as liaison between Enablement / NextGen team and other Global Innovation teams (e.g., Emerging Tech team, Venture Portfolio), key business units, and internal EY operations (i.e., IT, HR, procurement) to ensure alignment and collaboration on key initiatives

  • Develop and track high level success metrics across all Enablement and NextGen activities (e.g., level of implementation / adoption); including process analysis, reporting of results, and making recommendations to drive improvements

  • Assist Enablement leader in day to day activities including running team meetings, providing status updates, and managing stakeholder engagement activities

  • Leads and manages a project/program team, including setting priorities, monitoring performance, and providing leadership and development for staff members

  • Develops short and long range plans to align goals to firm strategy and implements plans to meet goals within established budgets and timelines

  • Manages a portfolio of complex to highly complex projects, including new technology/process deployments and development, deployment of continuous improvement initiatives, and initiatives to further leverage the services provided

  • Leverages understanding of complex workflow of operations to consult on well thought out suggestions for improvement

  • Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders leaders (i.e. technology, finance, etc) to facilitate collaboration and effectively share knowledge, technology, and resources.

  • Facilitates complex solutions across teams requiring ongoing working relationships at varying levels

  • Explains difficult issues and works to establish consensus; communicates issues and status reports to leadership and/or stakeholders.

  • Makes decisions regarding the allocation of resources to meet changing project/program needs.

  • Develops procedures and coordinates activities within project/program team, including vendor selection and management. This may include working directly with suppliers – both internal and external.

  • Leads the development of strategies to support key business drivers and initiatives

  • Leads/participates in key global projects

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

  • Manages complex to highly complex projects that require the ability to create and implement timelines related to project deliverables, assign tasks and follow up on their completion and manage sponsor/customer expectations of the outcome of the deliverable.

  • Strong understanding of the firm’s business, organizational structure and operations to effectively identify opportunities to support the firm’s strategy and key initiatives

  • Applies process and technology enablement knowledge to complex analyses and problem

  • Makes/Presents recommendations to leadership on solutions and influences final decisions

  • Manages own portfolio of work; delegates tasks

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Operates with minimal guidance; work is reviewed only for results obtained

  • Prioritizes own deadlines; delegates tasks to others

  • Direct responsibility for managing the project team

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Recognized as a resource in project management practices and tools at both the project and program level

  • Strong knowledge and experience with change management principles

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

  • Ability to think strategically and consider a broad range of factors when solving/prioritizing issues and making decisions

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to assert ideas and influence others to gain support and commitment

  • Ability to demonstrate strong cultural awareness skill to facilitate working in global teams and groups

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Visio

  • Ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities

Other Requirements:

  • Travel may be required pending business and project needs

  • Working hours, flexible work arrangements and time off may be limited during specific times or deadlines

  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate multiple time zones as needed

  • Overtime, as needed to meet deadlines
