The UK&I Tax Quality team supports the various business units in the Tax practiceon a wide range of Quality and Risk Management matters. The team is led by one partner and four directors (based in London MLP) and includes a number of Senior Managers/Managers and other professionals.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Manager or Senior Manager, ideally to be based in London, to lead on providing Tax Quality and Risk Management support to some allocated UK&I teams in MLP.
Your key responsibility will be to assist client engagement teams with their quality and risk management issues to enable the teams to deliver exceptional client service within EY’s quality and risk management framework. You will also help promote key Tax Quality initiatives across the business units, including providing local and national training, assisting with internal quality reviews, assessment of new service offerings and supporting business initiatives.
The role is very varied and demanding and a degree of mobility is required within the UK in relation to participation on internal quality reviews and providing national training.
Your key responsibilities
This role needs someone who has:
A reasonable level of Quality and Risk Management knowledge and experience already gained (e.g. from their client and engagement experiences)
A keen attention to detail and focus on quality, with the ability to learn more on technical Q&RM matters
Skills and attributes for success
A sound approach to problem solving
Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and who is able to deal tactfully with the many Partners, Managers and other staff across the Region.
High energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude, with the ability to take the initiative
Good presenting skills (or the ability to develop these)
Is well organised and methodical, with good project management skills
Strong multi-tasking, time management skills and flexibility
The ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion on sensitive matters
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with different teams
The ability to work individually on your own initiative as well as part of a team with people from across the business
To qualify for the role you must have
Excellent IT/Technology skills eg proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Sharepoint.
The ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion on sensitive matters.
High energy, enthusiasm and positive attitude, is able to take the initiative.
Ideally, you’ll also have
Knowledge of the Tax practice work would be an advantage, but is not essential
Knowledge of Quality and Risk Management/Compliance would be an advantage, but is not essential as full training will be given
