The opportunity

Working as part of the tax team, this is an important administrative role which involves working with all members of the team in co-ordinating the group’s current accounts, managing team finances and contributing to business development initiatives to support the group in meeting its wider objectives. Specifically, the role will involve responsibility for covering coordination, project management and account administration tasks, which allows the tax technical teams to focus on client service and tax technical work.

Your keyresponsibilities

  • Assisting the team in managing financialinformation and processes relating to client accounts, including the monitoringof work in progress, timely issuance of invoices and collection of payments

  • Providing generaladministrative support to ensure the smooth running of the account for example,setting up account meetings, distributing agendas, preparing documents

  • Assisting theteam in responding to non-technical client queries

  • Beingknowledgeable regarding all EY internal databases and software

  • Being responsiblefor managing the team’s client take-on processes; including backgroundresearch, managing the process for completing EY’s internal procedures,updating internal sales tracking system and drafting engagement documentation

  • Working with thefiling department to appropriately set up, maintain and archive files forclients and projects

  • Peer networking

  • Attending andcontributing to regular calls with TTA group in UK practice and contributing topeer group meetings with other TTAs to share knowledge, experience and bestpractice tips

  • Acting as theQuality and Risk Management co-ordinator for relevant projects to ensureappropriate authority is acquired

  • Being proficientwith the rules around independence and data privacy forms for assignees

  • Good numerical and data analysis skills

  • Demonstrate initiative in approach to projects/assignmentsand a willingness to challenge the status quo

To qualify for the roleyou must

  • 'A' Levels (or equivalent) and/or further educationqualification e.g. HND

  • Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Evidence of working well under pressure

  • Evidence of problem solving

  • Evidence of good business writing skills

What we look for

This role does not specifically require tax or accounting qualifications or experience - the compliance work is performed by our "in-country" teams across the globe - but previous experience in these areas would be beneficial: project management, Excel, communication and coordination skills are all required for the position. Our team comes from a variety of backgrounds, so you may currently be working in a similar role in industry or practice.
