The Global People Analytics team at EY has a clear mission - help the organization make better decisions about the future of its workforce by generating insights from data on our most precious asset – our people. Our work encompasses all aspects of EY’s global business, supporting our global functions, geographies, and service lines. As part of this effort, we tackle a variety of fascinating analytical questions: With the onset of robotics, what skills will we need to best serve EY clients in 5 years’ time? What changes to our staffing pyramids do we need to make to maintain profitability? What is the relationship between formal/informal networks and productivity? What Talent programs drive the most impact on employee happiness, retention, and productivity?

The opportunity

The team is seeking high-caliber analytics professional with a specific focus on data management, data investigation, predictive modelling, and data visualization. This is an important position requiring both technical knowledge and business awareness, providing challenging opportunities for motivated individuals to contribute to the strategic direction of achieving our Next Wave ambition.

Your key responsibilities

  • Facilitate the deployment of workforce analytics methodologies used to drive key business decisions and investments across our global member firms

  • Be accountable to lead analytics modelling projects and initiatives, engaging with key executives, and driving the overall consumption and reliance on analytics insights derived.

  • Lead the development of innovative ideas for the application of advanced analytical techniques to EY data and business problems.

  • Provide consultative and analytic support in the implementation of workforce measurement initiatives.

  • Support global, service line and regional business with workforce analytics support.

  • Provide technical expertise and consultation with analytics tools used in the business

  • Apply advanced analytics tools, machine learning, natural language processing, and deep learning techniques including; text and sentiment analysis, sophisticated regression and classification, clustering, and ensemble methods to solve challenging problems.

  • Able to work with very large data sets by creating files using SQL for statistical and analytical computer programming, custom coding in R or Python.

  • Build key partnerships with Talent Project leaders to understand and deliver on business needs

  • Provide exceptional service by being connected, responsive and Insightful; Understand their needs and business questions to determine the appropriate analysis techniques and deliverables.

  • Drive the successful delivery of projects and products using strong project management and deployment focused activities.

  • Generate innovative ideas and solutions that improve products, insights and our ability to efficiently deliver.

  • Work collaboratively with clients including Service Line leaders and Global Talent leaders to understand Talent analytics requirements and the problem at hand, define / execute the analytics approach, and communicate the insights and recommendations.

  • Support the advancement of analytics used in the talent organization

  • Challenge conventional thinking when it comes to measuring how people drive value.

  • Develop, maintain and educate other team members on best practices for applying statistical or analytical tools.

  • Remain current on strategic workforce management tools, techniques, strategies and practices to provide effective and efficient consultative advice to business clients.

  • Research and review new analytics tools in the market to leverage and learn from.

Skills and attributes for success

The ideal candidate will come with advanced business acumen around analytic best practices and be able to apply them to new and changing problems across the Talent function. They will possess strong technical analytic skills supporting predictive modelling and statistical forecasting including strong experience in coding languages, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning techniques.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Advanced knowledge and application of predictive modeling and statistical methods and fluency in programming language (Python, Java, R statistical tool, SQL, SQL)

  • Familiarity with Python or R and relevant libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Sciki-Learn, Matplotlib, Seaborn, etc.)

  • Text cleaning and handling techniques such as stemming, lemma, POS Tagging

  • Hands on experience to perform and produce analytics using Data Lake/ Data Mart architecture

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel mandatory.

  • Comfortable in a rapidly changing environment with competing and shifting priorities.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Master’s degree minimum in Statistics, Economics or Applied Science

  • Possible certification in Data analytics and Data visualization

  • 5+ years of survey analysis and analytics experience

  • Practical knowledge of PowerBI.

  • Experience in applying analytics best practices to human capital problems and hypotheses.
