The focus of our dedicated professionals within the Government Contract Services (GCS) practice is to help companies address the rigors of Federal contracting requirements and to succeed in understanding and successfully performing within this demanding environment. As the world’s largest buyer of goods and services in the world, (>$1T/year) the US government provides excellent market opportunities for our clients across all sectors. Our GCS team helps clients tap into and expand within this market by bringing experience and knowledge with interpreting applying the various government cybersecurity requirements and sharing our strategic insight of how these requirements impact companies’ ability to successfully compete within the US Government.

The opportunity

With the increased scrutiny as it relates to companies supply chain and cybersecurity, GCS has experienced increased demand from our clients to support their efforts in meeting the various US Government cybersecurity and system security regulations. As an Experienced Staff in GCS, you’ll help navigate the cybersecurity regulations and ancillary requirements for contracting with the US Government in order to support your clients across all sectors business objectives, expand market opportunities, and mitigate the risk of noncompliance. The position provides the opportunity to learn new high-in-demand skills, work with an unprecedented list of clients and grow within EY.

Your key responsibilities

Because of the complex nature of government contracting and cybersecurity requirements, no two projects will be the same. You’ll be advising clients on how to interpret and meet control requirements, government auditor expectations, policies and procedure development and supply chain compliance as it relates to US government cybersecurity and system security requirements.

Skills and attributes for success

As experienced staff you will work on multiple GCS projects, supporting clients cybersecurity compliance efforts in a variety of ways – Assist in the development of documentation such as policies, procedures and system security plans - Perform assessments against regulatory and control requirements -Support remediation activities - Nurture relationships with professionals across the firm and seek opportunities to work together - Maintain a strong focus on the client and be responsive to their requests.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Economics, Computer Science or other related field of study

  • Approximately 8 years of related work experience

  • At least one professional designation, such as CPA, CFE, CFA

  • In depth experience with Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)

  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize when working on multiple engagements

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, and the confidence to communicate complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences

  • A quantifiable history of business development success .

Ideally you’ll also have

  • Extensive experience with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)
