The opportunity

The Project Setup Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing the set up and maintenance of contracts and projects in Deltek Costpoint for EY’s Government and Public Sector (GPS). As the Setup Team leader, you will manage the contract and project setup processes, ensuring project hierarchies are established in accordance with contract awards and modifications as well as ensuring that contract / project data is current, accurate and complete.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Defines, documents, and manages contract and project setup processes, including updates related to modifications

  • Maintains GPS WBS and charge code hierarchy, ensuring it aligns it to contract and business needs

  • Advises on complex contract setups and changes to existing setups

  • Oversees Project Setup Team in the setup of contracts in Deltek Costpoint to include:

  • Contract type

  • Proper revenue recognition method

  • CLIN and charge code schema

  • Accurate value and funding per charge code

  • Establishment of contract labor categories and rates

  • Workforce employees’ access to established charge codes

  • Ensures billing instructions and copy of contract are sent to assigned client biller

  • Assist in preparation of contract briefs as necessary

  • Oversees input of contract modifications in Deltek Costpoint

  • Value and funding changes

  • Period of performance changes

  • Setup of newly exercised option years

  • Creates requested indirect and intercompany charge codes

  • Monitors established charge numbers to ensure all necessary fields are complete

  • Monitors team workflow to ensure contracts, charge codes, and workforce requests are setup in a timely manner

  • Provide support to various data call requests from Contracts, Finance and Program Management teams

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 7+ years of experience in contract and charge number setup in project accounting software, with at least 3 years of that experience specifically using Deltek Costpoint contract setup modules and fields

  • 3+ years supervisory experience

  • Experience with Cognos reporting or other similar querying tools

  • Experience designing, documenting, and managing setup procedures to ensure maximum accuracy and efficiency

  • Experience managing a team with a high volume, quick turn workload

  • Solid knowledge of government contract types, to include FFP, T&M, CP types

  • Solid knowledge of various contract fee structures, to include fixed, variable, and award fees

  • Solid knowledge of revenue recognition methods

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Superior attention to detail

  • Ability to learn and apply of firm policies and procedures quickly

  • Ability to build relationships with all levels of staff thru management

  • Ability to adjust quickly and adapt to changing priorities

  • Strong organizational skills

  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, as well as the ability to learn new computer applications

  • Proven customer service skills

Ideally, you’ll have

  • Experience supporting implementation or conversion of Deltek Costpoint

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
