Drawing on its reputation for providing deep industry experience and leading Advisory services to industry, EY’s Advisory Risk Services business is currently offering the opportunity to join its Internal Audit practice. You can be part of an innovative and dynamic team, offering a new level of excellence in Internal Audit business transformation.
The objective of our Advisory Risk service is to provide clients with a candid and reliable overview of their risk landscape. Our solutions can be used by our clients to build trust and confidence with their customers, the overall market and when required, by regulation or contract.
Your key responsibilities
You will be responsible for working on multiple client engagement teams across a wide range of industries within the practice. You can expect to work with top tier clients, addressing compliance, financial and operational risk, as well as perform internal control testing, develop internal audit plans, and provide internal audit services on an outsourcing basis. You will assess the client’s current state internal controls and framework in order to mitigate risk.
Skills and attributes for success
Ability to work effectively as a team member, by sharing responsibility, developing and coaching junior staff, delegating to a team, providing support, maintaining communication with external and internal stakeholders and updating senior team members on progress.
Participating in Risk engagements, including process focused internal audit and risk advisory.
Managing and completing client fieldwork to ensure projects are completed within specified budgets and timeframes. This includes delegating work to junior staff and being accountable for their work outputs and professional development.
Collating observations, determining and agreeing resolutions or recommendations with key client stakeholders.
Developing succinct and targeted reports for review by senior team members to communicate key observations and recommendations identified during project fieldwork.
Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders through a balanced and open approach.
You will require strong communication and interpersonal skills, to allow for effective and ongoing client interaction across a diverse range of stakeholders.
You will work with the team and client to create plans for accomplishing engagement objectives and a strategy that complies with professional standards. You will help clients to understand and manage their business risks and verify the validity of their business information.
You will demonstrate a thorough understanding of compliance, financial and operational risks, along with performing internal controls testing and develop internal audit plans.
To qualify for the role you must have
A minimum of 4 years + experience ideally working for a blue chip, government or professional services organisation as an IA Auditor or IA Risk Advisor.
Experience in risk assessment, mitigation and remediation.
Understanding of processes, risks and controls.
Experience in Internal Audit, including compliance and performance focused reviews.
Experience in project managing engagements.
Exceptional communication and report writing skills.
Ideally, you’ll also have
A Bachelor or Master’s degree qualification in finance, business, accounting or related discipline.
Professional accreditations and qualifications will also be considered favourably (CPA, CISA, CA, CIA, CISM, CISSP, CBCP, CIPP).
