The opportunity

In FAAS we work with our clients’ finance teams and wider organisation to provide practical, hands-on support and solutions relating to accounting, financial reporting and financial control in times of change or challenge. In addition, we participate in major transactions, offering deal structuring, financial due diligence and post-transaction support services, as well as a wide range of other services to support finance teams achieve their objectives and manage financial reporting risk.

Your key responsibilities

Work directly with a wide range of clients across several industries to assess the impact of new accounting standards, proposed transactions or other regulatory changes. As you build your knowledge and experience, you’ll become a credible advisor, influencing clients and engagement teams on resolutions that will impact entire industries.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Report directly to Senior Managers, Directors and Partners at the planning, execution and wrap-up stages of FAAS engagements

  • Ensure work is of a high quality, delivered in a timely fashion and in compliance with EY policies

  • Work with other EY locations, service lines and specialists to deliver a fully integrated service offering

  • Identify and communicate relevant trends, developments and key performance drivers relevant to the client

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Enthusiasm and the ability to build strong client relationships and cross-service line networks

  • Project management skills with a proven ability to execute under pressure

  • Superb execution skills

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills

  • The ability to identify, scope and solve problems

  • The ability to work autonomously in an unstructured environment

Required: CA or equivalent professional qualification.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A natural thirst for knowledge and continuous learning and improvement

  • Knowledge in accounting standards (IFRS).
