EY DnA is looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong experience in analytics and data warehouse and Redshift to join our team in Melbourne.
About the role
You will be mentored and developed by a talented management team and gain exposure to a wide variety of projects that span a range of industry sectors and deliver solutions for our clients. We have a big focus on training so you will have a chance to work across new and different environments and have opportunities to be involved in real Big Data and data transformation related projects. You will be involved a variety of activities such as gathering technical requirements, data analysis, ETL, data modelling, data migration, data warehousing across various industries and environments.

Lead projects in the implementation and use of new cloud and big data management solutions.
Lead the design and build of both batch and real-time data solutions, including data integration (ETL) pipelines, data warehouse tables and reports/dashboards
Build solutions that help advance data science and machine learning capabilities
Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed design documents and code.
Work closely with stakeholders including developers, architects, and business clients to establish implementation approach and provide technical direction and guidance to development teams
You will be a smart and business savvy individual keen to unleash your potential whilst working with our clients who are large organisations with large amounts of valuable data. You will immerse yourself in this sea of data, use both business and technical analytical skills to come up with data driven insights and solutions that will add value in decision making and improve return on investment. You will use the latest tools and techniques in building data driven solutions, use different approaches and innovative methodologies. Working with some of the best in the industry, you will seize the opportunity to learn and hone your consulting skills and business acumen.
To qualify for this position, you must have:
A degree in IT, computer science or engineering
SQL skills / data analysis skills
Working knowledge of kafka and spark
AWS , AWS S3 , Redshift
Traditional DWH concepts and data mart
Familiar with R/Python, Zeppelin
Data visualisation experience
BI reporting tools such as Tableau or Qlikview
Knowledge and experience of all phases of software development (including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, defect management)
Exposure to business intelligence, data warehousing or advanced analytics projects
Eager to contribute in a team-oriented environment
Able to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
An effective communicator (verbally and in writing)
