Global Lead, Security Technology Services, Solution Architecture

The opportunity
The STS Solution Architecture Lead is a role for passionate, high-energy candidates who are ready to take their cybersecurity careers to the next level. This opportunity extends the prospect of making a discernible difference on an international scale in the context of honing leadership skills while mentoring and enhancing a global team of first-rate solution architects. A person in this role will have end-to-end insight and influence into global security architectures while working with leading market suppliers often at the executive leadership level in a firm which places a high degree of importance on security to safeguard business & client data while protecting the reputation of the EY brand.
As the solution architecture lead, you will be working with globally disperse teams of IT professionals, guiding security architecture for the global EY firm. This includes owning & facilitating solution architecture development, reviewing architectures, providing feedback and guidance on architecture design, providing input on global initiatives, engaging in complex challenges, and helping the business of information security prioritize work. As the lead you will drive security technology solutions for the firm towards outcomes that align with strategic targets and objectives.
Essential Responsibilities
Act as an inspiring leader, cultivating excellence, leadership, and empowerment

Mentor team members, providing insights into better ways of leading & driving projects
Provide knowledge & experience of cybersecurity and large-scale enterprise practices
Collaborate with architects and engineers across EY Technology, aligning cross-functional and cross-product requirements, ensuring they are secure, technically sound and fiscally reasonable
Build and champion a professional stakeholder network
Lead conversations with key stakeholders to track technology trend & business demand
Act as trusted advisor providing leadership in support of strategic targets
Present and collaborate with senior leaders, engineers, operations, and services team
Work with the enterprise architecture team to ensure solutions are aligned to target
Demonstrate technical security leadership in interactions with all partners
Build and maintain relationships with internal & external parties for threat awareness
Promote shared understanding of current and emerging security threats and risks
Identify security architecture capabilities to mitigate those threats and risks
Serve as information security subject matter expert; provide advisory services as needed
Stay abreast of new security technologies and recommend where appropriate
Provides technical risk mitigation input to the firm’s information security policies
Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities
Understand the wider threat landscape and consider how to apply people, process, and technology to create effective defense-in-depth mitigations
Weigh the value proposition of mitigations against the cost, effort, and feasibility
Gauge solution effectiveness from a leadership perspective and provide effective team guidance to increase the likelihood of successful implementations

Perform typical counselor-related leadership functions
Track team utilization and triage incoming work
Maintain high level awareness of the team’s project-related activities
Ensure effective running of architecture engagements, i.e., technology selections, proof of concepts, production planning, and implementation oversight
Ensure solutions are ready for implementation teams to use them
Ensure that unforeseen deployment circumstances are fed into architecture updates
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Excellent management and leadership skills cultivating impactful purpose fulfilling team culture
Soft skills: Storytelling, presenting, leading conversations, adaptability, patience, facilitating difficult situations
Understanding of threat mitigation technologies across most of these domains: data security, network security, endpoint security, email security, application protection, cyber defense, and security management
Understanding of cloud architectures, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery models
Understanding of on-prem architecture concepts across various technology domains
Proven experience in providing architecture guidance and advisory services for various environments and systems, including architectures, roadmaps, optimization, and threat mitigation
Solid understanding of security architecture and standard methodologies
Knowledge of the application of risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies
Must be knowledgeable in general aspects of Information Security
Ability to effectively communicate and advocate well-formed key security requirements
Familiar with the practices and methods within IT Services, specifically IT Strategy & Enterprise Architecture
Desired skills include
Should have some experience working with many of the following: DLP, CASB, CSWG, MTD, security scanners, email gateways, NDR, IDS, firewalls, ZTNA, VPNs, segmentation, CSPM, WAF, LB, DB, networking concepts, CSPM
Experience with Microsoft Azure is a significant plus
Experience with AWS, GCP, Inventx, OTC, IBM, Oracle, Alibaba
Conceptual understanding of Zero Trust and Zero Trust Architecture(s)
Familiarity with IAM technologies, i.e., AD, SAML/Federated identities, PKI
Prior engineering experience

Basic Qualifications
High proficiency in the English language, including technical and general writing skills
Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field
12+ years of professional experience in the IT field
8+ years of direct information security experience
5+ years of architecture experience (solution architecture or enterprise architecture)
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in IT-related field
A security industry certification including but not limited to CISSP, CISM, SANS GSEC, SANS GIAC, ECSA
