Our GPS Technology Organization is a structure within the US GPS practice that implements and maintains a new operate and technology model designed specifically to support U.S. defense and Government engagements.

The opportunity

The primary function of the Information Security Audit Specialist is to liaise with external auditors to facilitate the audit for the US Government & Public Sector (GPS) Technology Enclave group.

You will coordinate audits to be executed with internal and external groups and ensures successful delivery of audits, in line with agreed methodology and guidelines. You will also be responsible for coordinating pre-assessments, evaluating and advising leadership on the readiness for the commencing of external audits, and coordinating all activities related to the audits such as document requests, evidence collection, and liaising with the external auditors and internal departments involved in the audits.

Your key responsibilities

  • Schedules and facilitates Information Security audits that will vary in level of complexity from simple to potentially complex

  • Facilitates and coordinates Internal Audits for the US GPS Technology Enclave group.

  • Coordinates internal pre-assessments in preparation for external audits and certifications

  • Advises leadership of the readiness for audits and certifications based on pre-assessments, remediation of identified deficiencies, and current state of the entities in scope

  • Establishes and reports on metrics to gauge on audit program effectiveness, audit readiness, and key risk areas that could impede successful external audits

  • Develops detailed audit work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports

  • Liaises with internal auditors, external auditors, vendors and outside consultants as necessary for independent security audits

  • Interfaces directly with management teams for coordinating of evidence collection and interviews with auditors

  • Identifies risks and escalates potential project issues to management as required

  • Recommend and implement process improvement strategies

  • Monitors remediation activities in-scope for external audits

  • Coordinates with managers and IT leadership on audit scheduling, evidence gathering, audit interviews and remediation

Skills and attributes for success

  • Five or more years of experience in Information Security

  • Network and/or application pen testing experience a plus

  • In depth knowledge of NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, Cloud Computing Security Requirement and CMMC L3 frameworks

  • Experience in managing complex information security projects

  • Good time management, interpersonal, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills

  • Strong problem-solving, communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills who is: - accountable - detail-oriented - able to adapt to changing requirements - able to manage multiple tasks and assignments

  • Able to work effectively (independently or within teams) across functional areas in a professional and collaborative environment

  • Specialized knowledge and experience in any of the following is desired: - applying auditing standards, principles, and appropriate methods in analyzing processes and evaluating internal management controls - applying techniques of interviewing, elicitation, and debriefing in a systematic manner

  • Obtaining, evaluating, organizing, and maintaining information

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Experience performing audits

  • Detailed understanding of assurance audits, certifications, and NIST frameworks

  • Working knowledge regarding Network and Application Penetration testing and experience in communicating vulnerabilities to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Maintain awareness of the current security threat landscape

  • Ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance which is required for this role

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • One of the following or equivalent certifications: CISSP, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) in related area, or other equivalent certification.

Denver Salary Range: $120,600 - 198,800

Hartford Salary Range: $120,600 - 198,800

Stamford Salary Range: $132,600 - 218,800

Las Vegas Salary Range: $120,600 - 198,800
