Job Summary:

The People Consultant Assistant Director manages Talent activities in the national EY-Parthenon practice as well as specifically in the region. Works closely with EY-Parthenon leaders to design and implement people strategies and programs. Responsible for addressing and resolving increasingly complex employee inquiries on career development. Position is responsible for determining which issues can be resolved and which need to be escalated to more senior members of the Talent Team.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Manages Talent and Consulting Operations activities at EY-Parthenon nationally.

  • Initiates and fields strategic career path conversations with EY-Parthenon client-servers. Escalates to senior team members as appropriate

  • Serves as a “sounding board” for Counselors and Counselor Connect Group Leaders with regard to the development and appropriate messaging to for their Counselees

  • Responsible for the design and effective implementation of high-quality Talent processes (including but not limited to: performance management, career development, etc.)

  • Serves as the “right hand” to EY-Parthenon Office Heads in the region office in terms of monthly office staff meetings, and other office-based issues

  • Leads EY-Parthenon Training / Learning & Development for the Talent team; serves as a primary point-of-conduct for Training Program Head

  • Manages the Associate and Consultant Programs for the Talent team; serves as a primary point-of-conduct for the Program Heads. Includes: convening cohorts on an annual basis to review career path / promotion criteria, structuring the agenda and coordinating quarterly updates for EY-Parthenon Leadership, and fielding inquiries from Program leaders across all EY-Parthenon U.S. offices with the goal of driving a consistent development experience for all client-servers, regardless of geography

  • Manages the EY-Parthenon MBA Sponsorship Program for the Talent team, including fielding questions on eligibility, program details and working with MBA Recruiter on logistics

  • Manages the EY-Parthenon Externship Program for the Talent team, including fielding questions on program details and eligibility

  • Initiates and manages the process for assigning national firm-building roles for all client-servers (1x/annually), which includes over 150 roles across recruiting, training, and operations

  • Serves as lead for the EY-Parthenon Talent team on the national weekly “pulse check” survey that measures satisfaction and sustainability. Determines follow-up items, identifies trends, and liaises with functional leaders (Program Heads, Office Heads, etc.) on key insights

  • Provides detailed reporting and analysis related to workforce planning, budgets and other people-related issues. Makes recommendations based on information provided.

  • Implements or executes change management initiatives to facilitate smooth implementation of people-related programs or processes

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for interpreting data related to headcount, performance, budgets, etc.

  • Assesses situations to determine risk mitigation and escalates to appropriate parties (e.g. EY-Parthenon Leadership, General Counsel Office (GCO), Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), etc.

  • May provide input on organizational restructuring, staffing, leadership assessments or other key Talent business initiatives

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Solid knowledge of HR law & practices

  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels within the firm

  • Solid project management and ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to quickly learn the business of the firm

  • Ability to influence multiple constituents

  • Solid networking skills and the ability to build relationships

  • Solid understanding of internal practices and procedures

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Works independently on recurring projects

  • Seeks guidance on increasingly complex projects or employee issues

  • Manages medium to large projects

  • Acts as a “player / coach” to mentor junior members of Talent, Recruiting, and Staffing teams

Other Requirements:

  • Overtime as required

  • Travel may be required

Job Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree preferred.


7+ years of experience

Certification Requirements:

  • May have Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification or Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) certification but not required.
