Tax Accountant, Tax, Global Compliance & Reporting, Japanese Business Services (Manager) (Multiple Positions), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, New York, NY.
Provide clients with tax guidance and planning related to tax compliance and reporting. Support client engagements by coordinating day-to-day interactions with clients, reviewing staff work product, driving delivery of services to meet deadlines, developing internal team members, and managing engagement economics. Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to complex situations. Identify and resolve tax technical issues and share insights to improve efficiency. Provide US and Japanese Inbound clients with domestic federal tax advice and guidance tailored to their unique needs. Establish an understanding of transfer pricing impacts, treaty considerations, and other inbound tax issues. Manage and motivate teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress. Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law, or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience; or alternatively a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law, or related field and 4 years of related work experience
Of the required work experience, must have 4 years of recent tax experience with a mid-size/regional to large sized/national public accounting firm delivering tax compliance and reporting, including managing compliance engagements.
Must have 4 years of tax experience including core tax accounting/ASC 740 and tax provisions review or preparation working with US GAAP accounting standards.
Must have 4 years of experience with online research tools to perform tax analysis.
Must have 2 years of experience working with Japanese corporations and decision making processes.
Must have 1 year of experience reviewing tax returns prepared by junior tax professionals.
Must have 1 year of experience managing tax compliance engagements, including engagement-related budgeting and billing, serving as a primary point of contact for clients, and escalating issues to tax partners or executives as needed.
Must have 1 year of experience with IRS Circular 230.
Must demonstrate oral and written fluency in Japanese. Candidate interviews will be conducted in Japanese.
Requires travel up to 10% to serve client needs.
