Tax – FSO – Fiduciary/Trust Tax Services – Staff

In our Financial Services Organization (FSO), we build a better working world by rallying together to solve the most complex challenges. We accomplish this by building trusted relationships, keeping an open mind, going all in, being bold and courageous, and taking risks worth taking. We help build a financial services industry in which financial institutions are trusted, customers’ financial goals are attainable, and the global economy is growing and secure. In today’s complex business environment, that means understanding the relationship between risk, the regulatory environment, and performance improvement, and applying our knowledge to help clients achieve their business objectives.

Within the FSO, our talented tax professionals provide technical knowledge, business judgment, consistency and an unwavering commitment to quality service to clients all over the world. In today’s increasingly complex business landscape our clients’ businesses will only succeed if they’re built on strong foundations and grown in a sustainable way. At EY, we believe that managing our clients’ tax obligations responsibly and proactively can make a critical difference – wherever our clients are and whatever tax services they need.

The opportunity

As part of the Fiduciary/Trust Tax Services, you’ll be responsible for producing accurate client invoices in a volume-driven environment within deadline-sensitive time frames. With support from a highly talented team, you’ll be trained, coached, and mentored with responsibilities growing incrementally as you learn and develop in the role. It’s a unique opportunity where you’ll be exposed to a variety of projects and technologies so you can grow and develop, making your mark on the future of this practice.

What to expect

Your primary focus will be working closely with our client engagement teams to manage engagement economics and monthly invoicing.

Your key responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for working with our operations, technology, and robotics teams to manage and merge charges originating from different sources and to post draft invoices for client engagement leads to review prior to client invoicing.

  • You will assist engagement teams with their utilization of invoice review tools and help bridge technology and operational gaps as charges move through the process from draft to revision to final status.

  • You will manage the practice’s month to month billing calendar to coordinate deadlines and dependencies affecting invoicing.

  • You will be responsible for practice-wide communications associated with monthly invoicing, collections, and related operations.

  • You will reconcile the charges posted as drafts vs those modified by engagement leads, so as confirm adjustments are valid and have been cleared with practice leadership, as necessary.

  • You will track the status of all invoices (open, paid, cancelled), lead calls with engagement managers regarding cash collection status, and work directly with Finance to issue corrected invoices and otherwise expedite the invoicing and collection process.

To qualify for the role, you should have

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field

  • A minimum of 1 year of related experience

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Alteryx, and SharePoint. Additional experience with MS Access is a plus.

  • The ability to listen, understand, read and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally in a professional environment
