EY Technology supports our technology needs through three business units:
Client Technology (CT) - focuses on developing new technology services for our clients. It enables EY to identify new technology-based opportunities faster and pursue those opportunities more rapidly.
Enterprise Workplace Technology (EWT) – EWT supports our Core Business Services functions and will deliver fit-for-purpose technology infrastructure at the cheapest possible cost for quality services. EWT will also support our internal technology needs by focusing on a better user experience.
Information Security (Info Sec) - Info Sec prevents, detects, responds and mitigates cyber-risk, protecting EY and client data, and our information management systems.
The Cyber Capabilities Development (CCD) Response Improvement Engineer will support the EY Security Operations Center by identifying opportunities for increasing the efficacy of the team. Additionally, the Response Improvement Engineer will collaborate with other teams throughout EY Technology to drive forward initiatives to realize those opportunities. Candidates for the role must have strong knowledge of cybersecurity incident response, work well with other people, have strong verbal and written communication skills, a sense of diplomacy, ability to anticipate obstacles, and decision-making skills to handle complexity and uncertainty.
Your key responsibilities
Envision, plan, and facilitate the development and realization of initiatives that improve the responsiveness and effectiveness of the EY Security Operations Center
Global interactions that may involve nontraditional working hours
Serve as a liaison to different businesses and interface with fellow team members and colleagues on other EY teams.
Manage relationships with business partners, management, vendors, and external parties
Help lead medium to large sized projects as directed by leadership
Maintain certain specialized systems required by the security operations center
Development of learning path recommendations for roles within the security operations center
Drive the development, SOC operations and improvement of a Security Orchestration and Automated Response (SOAR) solution.
Drive the automation of the playbooks within the tools & new playbooks.
Collaborate with other teams to share knowledge and working patterns
Oversee the SOAR Playbook repository to maximize collaboration and knowledge share amongst the teams.
Champion the maximizing of SOAR’s technical issues/features, and work closely with the wider design, delivery, operational engineering teams to deliver and effective and optimized solution.

To qualify for the role, you must have
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field
7+ years’ experience in at least two of the following roles:
Member of a Security Operations Center (SOC)
Architect or management responsibility for a cybersecurity function
Engineer or operations for a cybersecurity related platform or system
Understanding of security threats, vulnerabilities, and incident response
Be familiar with a basic understanding of legalities surrounding cybersecurity investigations, legislation and privacy
Ideally, you’ll also
- Candidates must hold or be willing to pursue related professional certifications such as CISM, CISSP or technology related certifications such as those from Splunk or Microsoft
