Senior Consultant, Advanced Manufacturing and Mobility – EY

The opportunity

EY's Advanced Manufacturing and Mobility team is seeking a Senior Consultant with a versatile skill set in automation, digital services, and advanced technologies. You will contribute to a wide range of projects, from safety strategy and risk management to the implementation of enterprise AI, predictive analytics, connectivity, and electrification solutions in ground and air transportation.

Your key responsibilities

  • Engage with clients, under the supervisions of engagement leadership, to understand their challenges in autonomous systems and safety engineering and deliver quality results in diverse areas such as electrification and digital transformation.

  • Support the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies and risk management solutions that encompass automation, connectivity, electrification, and/or AI.

  • Conduct research, analysis, and/or predictive modeling to provide data-driven insights, advice on industry standards and best practices, and technology forecasts and roadmaps.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and build scalable solutions in the autonomous mobility space.

  • Contribute to the creation of sales materials, proposals, and presentations for a broad spectrum of technology solutions.

  • Stay current with emerging methodologies and technologies relevant to the mobility sector, including enterprise AI and digital services.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Experience in autonomous technology within transportation, aerospace, or manufacturing domains.

  • Versatility in working with technologies related to automation, AI, connectivity, electrification, and predictive analytics.

  • Familiarity with safety regulations, technical standards and industry best practices.

  • Basic understanding of automated and autonomous systems (ground and/or air) and their operational design domains.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical systems and issues to a range of audiences.

  • Proficiency in data mining, data engineering, statistical tools, and development in Python, R, SQL, SAS, Java/C#, or similar.

  • Ability to understand complex technical programs and identify deliverables efficiently.

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving across a wide range of technical and business challenges.

  • Eagerness to learn about and apply emerging methodologies and technologies across various domains within mobility

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, advanced data analytics, or a similar technical field.

  • 3+ years of relevant consulting or related experience, preferably in a big4 firm or strategic company-internal roles.

  • A willingness for occasional travel as needed to meet client needs and a valid driver’s license.

  • Effective communication and analytic modeling skills.

  • Experience in internal or external client-facing roles in consulting and/or strategic roles

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Industry experience in ground transportation or aviation.

  • Familiarity with transportation or manufacturing relevant data sets such as safety, crash, weather, and supply chain.

  • A desire to work on variety of projects, including but not limited to automation, with the flexibility to adapt to new challenges and opportunities.

  • Executive presentation skills focused on driving business outcomes.

What we offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $105,800 to $1748,00. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $127,100 to $198,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
