Our Risk Management team enables responsible growth through close collaboration with the business to protect EY from the risks that arise from its professional practice. The team works with the business to identify, monitor and mitigate EY's risk, providing coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, compliance, regulatory, policy, security and risk management issues, as well as effectively managing ethics-related claims and queries. Through oversight of key risk processes, Risk Management helps to mitigate the threat of litigation, avoid regulatory enforcement and limit damage to our reputation. Our Risk Management team is strategically focused on risk and on embedding risk discussions into business planning activities at all levels of the organization.

The opportunity

The volume and complexity of legal and regulatory requirements EY is required to meet continues to grow and as a result the quality of EY policies is required to continually improve. The current opportunity to join the Executive Risk Management (RM) Policy team provides the successful candidate an opportunity to focus on enhancing our policy operations and key policy enablement tools. The role also offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work with the Risk Management sub-function leaders, service line Quality, and global functions to increase the usability of EY policies and integration of them into EY systems.

Your key responsibilities

The successful candidate will focus on policy operations and will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing EY’s policy platform, policy-related content on the EY Homepage, and the askRM chatbot. The role involves driving content management practices such that EY’s policy inventory is appropriately enabled from a findability perspective, usability is enhanced, and search results are improved. The candidate will advise service line and function policy owners on the use of the policy platform as the central and authoritative source of all policies. The role also involves developing and managing enablers to support policy consultations and policy exception requests and approvals.

The candidate will also work with the Policy Leader and Policy Director on policy considerations arising from EY system changes and enhancements needed to policy enablers as appropriate.

The Policy team is a global, virtual team with members in several locations, including a core team of policy support staff. The successful candidate will be required to travel occasionally for one-to-one and team meetings.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Content management skills including a general understanding of search functionality

  • Understanding of policy topics at a level appropriate for organizing policies and managing policy stakeholders

  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive cross-teaming around policy initiatives

  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and user-friendly written documents and communications

  • A strong team player, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually, and independently

  • Ability to work in a high pace, agile environment

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities effectively

  • Ability to develop innovative and creative ways of raising policy visibility with EY Partners and Staff

  • Ability to build consensus and lead by influence

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Legal, Regulatory or other relevant Professional qualification

  • Experience managing online content, while not compulsory, would be preferred

  • Experience in a cross-border role, successfully managing multiple complex projects at a global level

  • Good understanding of the Risk Management function, key stakeholders and influencers

  • Understanding of EY client serving professionals’ challenges and goals

  • Experience working in a diverse team

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • High level of influencing and networking skills

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into digestible, simplified, and user-friendly material

  • Ability to challenge views/perspectives while securing buy-in within RM and across other business enablement functions and service lines
