EY’s Americas Consulting Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC) team has an opening for an experienced Content Strategist. You’ll use your background of content creation along with strong analytical skills to help ensure content is optimized to align with client objectives.

The opportunity

As a content strategist you will move fluidly from the big picture to the smallest of detail. You have the opportunity to oversee the content requirements for Americas Consulting and create content strategy deliverables across a project life cycle. A great candidate will bring together analytically derived ideas and a deep understanding of the content and how clients, both existing and prospects, find, consume and digest it. Excellent written communication skills and an open, collaborative attitude will ensure success when engaging with teams across EY’s Service Lines and our Sectors.

Your key responsibilities

Leading a team of talented professionals, in this role you will be responsible for messaging strategy, architecture and execution for all of Americas Consulting marketing content. You will strategize, plan, execute and review work in professional services to help drive engagement with EY and qualified leads. You’ll oversee the creation and maintenance of editorial calendars and work with our business leaders to help atomize thought leadership to get the maximum exposure through EY’s owned channels as well as external channels. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team of content professionals, freelancers and agencies while maintaining budgets

  • Assisting with the integration of content to demand generation campaigns

  • Providing oversight to all email campaigns for Americas Consulting and ensuring they are tested, delivered and measured

  • Driving messaging architecture, positioning and content at both the brand, buyer and solution levels

  • Defining personas and developing go-to-market messaging strategy

  • Assisting demand generation and paid media teams with content development for email campaigns, paid media, events, etc.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital marketing platforms (e.g., DemandBase, Marketo, Google Analytics/AdWords) to target buyers, benchmark campaigns and track ROI

  • Overseeing and reviewing messaging and content

  • Partnering with UX designers and web teams to translate messaging objectives into content storylines

  • Oversee the development of case studies and ensure that they are helping to elevate brand awareness of EY Consulting’s skills and capabilities

Skills and attributes for success

  • Adept at creating strategic, targeted and impactful go-to-market initiatives to commercialize services and solutions

  • Have a working knowledge of marketing automation tools (e.g., Marketo)

  • Have a passion for breaking down difficult concepts and technical jargon into digital-first, user centric content

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a high performing team of diverse and geographically dispersed individuals

  • Have a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant, inspired writing samples and an effective content development process.

  • Working knowledge of SEO for content optimization

  • Ability to take written documents and translate into images, infographics and video to tell the story through multiple formats

  • Analytical with the ability to translate data insights and business decisions into actions/tests.

  • Demonstrated success in building internal and external relationships at a senior level

  • Ability to manage relationships with external agencies, effectively articulating business needs and KPIs to brief and engage outside vendors

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • 10+ years of experience of senior copywriting, content marketing or content management experience, preferably in the B2B market and/or professional services.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field, MBA desired

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (including presentations) as well as listening, interpretation and influencing skills

  • Have proven ability to map content to intent across the experience funnel

  • Excellent data analysis skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent project management skills, team building and interpersonal communication skills

  • Must be able to articulate complex subject matter in a straightforward, concise and easily digestible manner for broad audiences

  • Poise and confidence to professionally interact with all levels of leadership

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Adept at knowledge sharing and a strong understanding of sales funnel content strategy including thought leadership

  • Ability to project manage complex programs and drive associated and relationship building efforts
