Job Summary:

The Executive Recruiter, Assistant Director is responsible for recruitment and facilitation of the executive hiring process for executive-level candidates to join the firm at the Partner, Principal, Executive Director, Director (PPEDD) and Associate Director rank in designated service lines, business units and/or practices. This position also involves identifying top talent, with a focus on diverse and inclusive talent, and converting those prospects into active candidates for potential hire into the firm. This level may recruit for Senior-level positions at the PPEDD rank and, in some instances, at the Senior Manager or Associate Director level. This role involves working in a consultative manner with business leaders, talent and hiring executives to fully manage the executive hiring process from candidate identification through onboarding, including facilitation of hiring governance required by EY. This position also includes responsibility for sourcing and assessing candidates, managing pre-hire due diligence, negotiating executive-level compensation, building relationships with executive-level talent and project management of the entire hiring process in an efficient, high-quality manner. This role may entail some counseling and/or supervisory responsibility for other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the executive recruiter for a service line or sub-service line. May also have business unit, industry sector or geographic responsibility.

  • Assesses business leadership resource needs against the talent market and builds role profiles, sourcing channels and compelling candidate messaging to attract the right talent from the marketplace.

  • Collaborates closely with other team members and stakeholders to develop and execute a customized executive search strategy for open needs.

  • Keeps leaders abreast of external factors such as competitive intelligence and industry or market trends that impact our search strategy.

  • Recruits candidates on behalf of client groups for positions at the more senior client-serving and Core Business Services levels and acts as the main recruiting point of contact for these client groups. Clients may include hiring managers, internal and external candidates, and other constituents, as required (e.g., alumni, internal and external affinity groups, and vendors).

  • Prepares the final package that is reviewed and approved by firm leadership, as needed.

  • Develops and maintains relationships with business unit and service line hiring managers and talent leaders.

  • Prepares information for, and interacts with, the highest level of leadership at EY.

  • Consults with hiring managers and recruiting leadership to develop implementation plans for sourcing and recruiting strategies, paying particular attention to inclusiveness strategies.

  • Manages candidates through the entire interview and hiring process (up to and including assessing candidate qualifications for current open positions, negotiating offers and initiating onboarding for new hires).

  • Responsible for maximizing the use of recruiting tools and technologies (e.g., Encore, Avature, Taleo and LinkedIn) to streamline activities and remain at the forefront of talent acquisition. Researches and recommends the use of other vendors that may improve the effectiveness of recruiting and/or sourcing activities.

  • Responsible for the implementation of recruiting strategies and hiring plans to meet internal hiring needs.

  • Responsible for counseling and mentoring other recruiters.

  • Combines knowledge of business strategy with knowledge of EY culture to determine whether candidates have the appropriate skills, competencies and experiences required to meet the specifications of the proposed position.

  • Utilizes knowledge of candidate’s needs and interests to articulate and market EY.

To qualify, candidates must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Approximately 8–10+ years of experienced hire recruitment experience, including executive rank recruitment (preferably in a professional services and/or executive search agency environment).

  • Extensive knowledge of recruitment and hiring laws and practices.
