The opportunity
As a Senior Consultant, you will assist clients in managing risks and controlling costs associated with our clients’ processes, plans, programs, and systems. In a complex legal and regulatory environment, you will analyze our clients’ human resources and talent operations to assess risks and improve processes for compliancy and efficiency. Additionally, you will measure, control, reduce, and reallocate human resources costs. You will have the opportunity to gain excellent personal and professional growth and meaningful exposure to our business as an integral member of our client services team.
Your key responsibilities
You will work on multiple projects across the end-to-end human resources and broader talent landscape, delivering design, compliance, risk, tax and accounting technical services and providing flexible and innovative solutions that are both compliant and efficient. You will also be expected to have excellent communication skills and rapidly establish relationships both internally and with our clients.
Skills and attributes for success
Possess broad human resources legal and regulatory experience, including wage and hour, Title VII, FMLA, ADA, and broader labor and employment experience.
Conversely, possess tax technical experience across the total rewards landscape, including qualified retirement plans, equity programs, incentive programs, deferred compensation plans, and other relevant compensatory technical matters.
Perform technical research for broad human resources issues at both the state and federal level along with the ability to translate that into compliant process design
Experience with assessing and quantifying complex human resources operational and financial exposure for our clients in a transaction environment.
Collaborate with our clients’ internal stakeholders (human resources, legal counsel, internal audit, finance) as well as their external vendors (payroll providers, actuaries, plan administrators).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented and strong business-writing skills
Bring your compensation knowledge and technical skills to broader transformation and transaction projects
Track goals, action items and budgets using project management tools and methodologies
Implement techniques to improve productivity, increase efficiency, and mitigate risk
To qualify for the role, you must have
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, human resources, or a related field is preferred.
JD with a background in either labor/employment or compensation/benefits with 4+ years of related experience, with strong academic credentials
Excellent analytical, research and communication skills
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong business acumen
Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing requirements
Ideally, you’ll also have
Experience working with internal audit and/or within a risk management framework
Project management experience, planning, budget management, and reporting
Strong Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint, and/or Word skills

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $124,700 to $228,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $149,700 to $260,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
