Job Summary:

Converged Hardware Services L3/L4 will play a key role in engineering converged technologies across EY Data Centers. In this role the individual will effectively oversee installation and maintenance of all Converged hardware assets, within a framework of industry standards, ITIL and AGILE best practices and EY strategic IT principles and policy guidelines. Troubleshoot critical converged issues across EY’s global estate, this individual would also be expected to take proactive steps to manage capacity and performance across VCE Vblock/HCI systems. He/she also must be able to provide technical subject matter expertise, be able to understand complex issues and provide clear solutions. In addition to that he/she will be expected to adhere to change/problem and incident management processes. Professional certification in infrastructure related fields (VCE, VCP, MCSE, CCNA etc.) or other industry recognized infrastructure credential is preferred.

Purpose of the Job:

  • In your role as a Converged Hardware Services Engineer L3/L4 you’ll:

  • Install, configure and manage converged technologies across EY’s global estate

  • Troubleshoot storage, network and compute issues through to problem resolution

  • Implement solutions based on EY standard components globally

  • Administer Dell EMC Vblock, VxRail and Azure Stack

  • Engineer new converged/hyper converged/software defined storage solutions to meet EY requirements

  • Adhere to Change/Problem/Incident management process

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to demonstrate good decision-making, analytical skills and problem solving skills

  • Deals efficiently with escalations and difficult situations/people under pressure.

  • Proactively evaluates demand ensuring adequate capacity is maintained at all times.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Hard Skills and Knowledge:

  • Advanced skills in managing complex converged environment

  • Excellent knowledge of Cisco hardware - IP and FCoE. Cisco Certified Network Associate would be desirable

  • Excellent knowledge of Cisco 1000v

  • Experience configuring, implementing, and supporting solutions using Cisco network equipment

  • Excellent knowledge of VCE vBlock

  • Excellent knowledge of Dell EMC VxRail

  • Excellent knowledge of Azure Stack

  • Knowledge of Cisco UCSM

  • Knowledge of EMC Storage

  • Knowledge in Server Virtualization Technologies – Vmware ESX

  • Knowledge in Server Technologies – Cisco UCS Blades

  • Knowledge in Backup Hardware components

  • Knowledge in Server Technologies

  • Knowledge in Server OS technologies (Windows, ESX and Linux).

Other Requirements:

  • Travel may be required to guide implementations or meet with vendors and contractors supporting various projects.

  • Weekend or late night work may occur during project phases

  • Due to the global team/organization calls and meetings out of regular office hours will occur.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience

Experience:

  • Five to seven years’ experience in Storage/Network/Compute

  • Minimum Two years’ experience working with converged technologies.

Certification Requirements:

  • ITIL Foundation Certification a plus “helpful to perform this job”
