Independence Senior Associate, Global Monitoring Solution

Join our Risk Management team and help protect EY from risks that arise from its professional services. The Independence team provides coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, regulatory and risk management issues, as well as supporting our people in managing the risks that arise in our daily working lives. You will work closely with all parts of the organization to identify, manage and monitor risk by providing coordinated advice and assistance on independence, compliance, regulatory, and ethical issues.

Your key responsibilities

As a Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) Senior Associate, you will make educated, thoughtful decisions on Risk Management specifically related to Independence. You will oversee recurring processes that are designed to identify potential independence issues. You will be analyzing and documenting your conclusions on various independence cases and may be required to present and explain your findings to leadership and other members of the Independence team.

You will have the opportunity to grow your knowledge around application of independence policies and the impacts to our professionals globally. You will have the opportunity to interpret policies and processes, determine required actions, and make recommendations based on firm guidance and your growing experience. Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability to articulate our message clearly and succinctly for communications with professionals at all levels of the firm.

  • Ability to manage tasks and activities in a timely manner and be responsible for specific outcomes

  • An eagerness to learn and apply your experiences to new situations by identifying key issues and risks in the Q&RM function or process and comparing facts and circumstances to current EY policies.

  • Ability to think critically to solve multi-dimensional complex issues

  • Confidence to recommend improvements, and/or develop new approaches or deliverables, by utilizing your knowledge of existing Q&RM processes, and your business experience

  • Ability to prioritize appropriately amongst competing tasks and deadlines

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Basic knowledge of project management tools and methodologies

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Flexibility to adapt to different working situations

  • Diligence and discretion to keep sensitive information confidential

  • Strong research and communications skills

  • Good working knowledge of computers and common software packages, including analytical tools

  • 3-5 plus years of related experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Ideally, you will have

The ability to learn and understand the firm and regulators’ independence rules and policies as well as familiarity with other quality and risk management initiatives outside your area of expertise
